Whitework Handkerchief | old-fashioned bastards

Begin the buttonhole stitch by passing the needle ...

Who Are These Bastards? Doing things the victorian way. Author Archives: the scullery maid. Hand-Stitching Tutorial – Buttonholes. Next, using a simple backstitch, stitch along the outline of your marking. Stitch two rows of backstitches. This will help secure the fabric once it has been cut and as you work the buttonhole stitch. Enlarge the hole just slightly with a pair of scissors. I prefer to cut as I stitch as opposed to cutting the whole buttonhole all at once. I find this works better as i...Begin...

A Squirrel's View. Newer posts →. December 5, 2013 · 7:59 pm. A couple of years ago I started to do a sideless surcoat. I used fabric that was in my stash and started beading.
