Two Wheels - Six Strings. Random news and thoughts about various two-wheeled projects and music, especially my band, Skull Full Of Blues. Sunday, July 30, 2006. Guess Where I've Been. My good friend Carol, her son Tyler, his girl Jessica and Carol's youngest son, Colin, invited me to meet them in Moab for a few days. I had Friday off, so I took them up on the invitation. Since Tyler was the only one of the bunch which had ever been to Moab, I was basically enlisted as tour guide. The group at Echo Point.

But only being powered by one! This is my nephew Sean and me on the Grinder Special Huffy Tandem. Sean isn't real fond of riding (or should I say "pedalling") a bike, but he seemed to enjoy having Uncle Jon tow him around. And, finally, a flying dog picture. And posing for the paparazzi. Two Wheels - Six Strings. Random news and thoughts about various two-wheeled projects and music, especially my band, Skull Full Of Blues. Friday, August 25, 2006. I know a little bit about motorcycle history. I read a lot, and I've been an active motorcyclist since 1974. So, I always find it interesting to see a bike I just can't reconcile to what I know. I spotted this one, sporting a sidecar, on the street near my home. Oddly, though, it has a V-6 engine in it. Posted by Jon @ 2:56 PM. I thought, "How ...

Out With The Old And In With The Older. Well, I sold one of my favorite personal bikes, today. Adam, one of the baristas down at Kaladi Brothers Coffee, was the victim of a scum-sucking bike thief, a while back, and needed a bike to get around town. Gone but not forgotten. So, I figure the KHS can take overe the short-haul errand running, in a...

Two Wheels - Six Strings. Random news and thoughts about various two-wheeled projects and music, especially my band, Skull Full Of Blues. Saturday, April 29, 2006. Beat but not beaten. Rather than rebuild the rear wheel on the Cafe Scorcher with a flip-flop hub, I decided to utilize an inexpensive set of Performance Bicycles disc wheels to do the trick. I had read an article about the the Boone disc-mount fixed cogs on www.63xc.com. I installed it on the disc mount, and installed a single-speed adapter I...

Here's a piece I did for Tracy, based on a photo of her bike taken at the Fixed Gear Symposium, last month. Posted by Jon @ 8:09 PM.

FedEx Believe It Or Not - Revisited. Here are a couple of shots of the mid-1960's Peugeot UO8 which arrived in shrinkwrap, a couple of weeks ago. It has a new red powder coat, and a selection of parts swapped over from its new owner's former Bianchi. Didn't turn out too badly, considering how it got to me, originally! Posted by Jon @ 9:18 PM.

First Ride on the New Fixed Mountain Bike. My good friend Randy Caley asked me to go on a mountain bike ride at Elk Meadow, on Sunday. So, I made sure to get the KHS-framed fixie mountain bike finished on Saturday. Randy took a couple of little tumbles (one of which would play well on one of those Extreme! And seemed to be getting a little frustra...
