Thoughts from a TCK. Tuesday, April 8, 2014. A Day in the Life of a History Teacher: Competition Day. I checked my watch again while Brittany stopped the group to check directions. Were we going to make it? 8221; LW was pale; she had refused to eat breakfast, claiming that her stomach was too tight and would reject it. 8220;Do you think we have a chance at Rome? Brittany suddenly halted again, and the street fell eerily silent. “Are there stairs anywhere? Place for the Middle schoolers followed by the 1.

Thoughts from a TCK: August 2013
http://thoughtsfromatck.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thoughts from a TCK. Sunday, August 4, 2013. That was an excellent question. I think it’s about learning, perhaps some about imagination and understanding. Mostly, however, it’s about connecting. It’s no secret I’m a history nerd extraordinaire and wish with all my might Bill and Ted’s time-traveling phone booth were real, for then I would be able to see. Just so we can know it’s the right guy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Picture Window template. Template images by kickers.

Thoughts from a TCK: History Competition Part 2: Rome Edition
http://thoughtsfromatck.blogspot.com/2014/06/history-competition-part-2-rome-edition.html
Thoughts from a TCK. Monday, June 2, 2014. History Competition Part 2: Rome Edition. The kid asked incredulously. At that moment, the founder of the IHBB (International History Bee and Bowl) came out to greet us and review the rules once again. I glanced down the aisle at my 6 students who had heard this quite a few times by now, but they still sat enraptured and focused. The signal to start came very suddenly, and we were off to our first of five preliminary rounds. In our last few hours in Rome, we wer...

Thoughts from a TCK. Sunday, February 9, 2014. 8220;Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”. 8213; A.A. Milne. I LOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE the Olypmics. I don’t even think I can express strongly enough just how much. More than Winnie the Pooh loves honey. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thoughts from a TCK. Thursday, June 12, 2014. The End of an Era. Monday, June 2, 2014. History Competition Part 2: Rome Edition. The kid asked incredulously. Round 1 was read by the British-accented Richard whom we remembered from our time in Paris. With questions and categories such as "Medieval terms," "World War 1," and "Rome's enemies," we owned that round and breathed a sigh of relief that at least we wouldn't go home complete losers - every Middle Schooler's worst nightmare, right? In our last few ...

This is satire. This is not related to that rap video. As one hate mail pointed out, I am “gangsta as a pocket watch” and as such do not currently possess the flow to create a rap video. Thoughts from a TCK: July 2013
http://thoughtsfromatck.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Thoughts from a TCK. Monday, July 15, 2013. It's only been 4 years . And yet technology is baffling me. It's not even the great, big technology items - I've stayed on top of laptops, iPads, and various Internet sites - it's the little things. I stood in the kitchen struggling to pull up the straw part of Livvi's brand new sippy cup, and it just wouldn't budge. I pulled and strained and twisted, and thought It's a kid's cup, for goodness sake! I am out of the loop, for sure! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
