Tuesday, 31 May 2016. Had a Red Kite. Over Larkhill at 12:10 today, my second Yeovil record this year. Sunday, 29 May 2016. 29th May 2016 (Glamorgan and Gwent). Headed up to Glamorgan and arrived at Ogmore by about 13:30, where the adult SQUACCO HERON. Was showing fairly near the road as soon as we arrived. A nice addition to the car window list! Tuesday, 28 June 2016. Had a look at Ninesprings this morning. Highlights included 3 Mandarins. Stock Dove (my first in south Yeovil), 1 Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Grey Wagtail, several Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs, 1 Marsh Tits, Nuthatch and 2 Treecreepers. Mute Swans - Ninesprings. This bathing juvenile was nice to see up close. Carrion Crows - Ninesprings. Blue-Tailed Damselfly - Ninesprings. Saturday, 25 June 2016. Over West Cromwell Road flying to roost, and unusually a calling Yellow Wagtail.

Tuesday, 30 August 2016. Had a look from the hide at Bowling Green Marsh this evening. Highlights included 2 each of Curlew Sandpiper. And Pintail and several Bar-Tailed Godwits and Whimbrels. A family of 4 black swans on the estuary was a surpise as well. Saturday, 27 August 2016. Had a brief look at Ham Wall around midday producing 4 Great White Egrets. Among the other usual species. I was somewhat surprised to find this Little Stint. From VP2 alongside a Ruff. Also had lots of Iberian Water Frogs.

Sunday, 29 January 2017. 28th January 2017 (Northumberland, Cleveland and Derbyshire). Met up with Cliff Smith and Chris Griffin in Frome this morning before heading north. Shortly after setting off, Chris noticed a Tawny Owl. From the car window, so we turned the car around and got decent views of it next to the road. I didn't actually get any of these for the last couple year lists so good to catch up with one. We arrived at Druridge Bay and instantly had the PACIFIC DIVER. Also had a few Tree Sparrows.
