The Schmidt Family: July 2010
http://kschmidtfamilynews.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 27, 2010. We welcomed Katelyn Jane into our family on July 1st at 9:26am. She weighed 7lbs. 3oz. and was 19 1/4" long. Two weeks later at her first doctor's visit she was already up to 7lbs. 6oz. and 21 3/4" long! She is eating like a champ and growing like a pretty little weed! Katelyn only wakes up twice in the night to eat and then goes right back to sleep, who could ask for anything more? Here are a couple of Katelyn's first photos from the hospital. Yeah, that's right I said it, this s...

Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Happy 9 Months, Kate Bug! My baby is 9 months old.already! Katelyn is doing a good job keeping her mommy extra busy, she is such a little mover! About a week after she started crawling she started doing this. We never moved anything up high with Ellie just told her things were for looking only, not touching. It must have been easier with her since she was so much older. It does not work at all with this baby! That's not for babies! We're not-so-patiently waiting for more spring...

The Schmidt Family: January 2011
http://kschmidtfamilynews.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 6, 2011. It snowed and snowed on Christmas Eve. Ellie had fun watching the snowplows all day, baking cookies for Santa and playing outside. This was our first big snowfall of winter and I think we got about 8-10 inches that day. Taking baby Annie for a ride down the sidewalk. Our family as snowmen (with the real Ellie standing by! Look closely at Katelyn's leaf mohawk haha! Ellie's hair reflects the 5:30 gift opening time! Kevin and I just looked at each other and laughed. Instead, Elli...

Friday, January 15, 2010. Not so great news. I usually leave the posting to Heidi, but thought that I had some news to share. So Justin, Angie, Logan, and Baby Girl Wyse, know that we are all thinking of you and that you are great friends. We hope to see you soon. I'd like to add that I have received a text which was around 8pm, it said surgery went well and he was headed home. I have no other details at this time, but again please keep Justin and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Ellie was over D...

Monday, March 22, 2010. Memories with Papa Joe. It’s been a busy couple of weeks around here, some good some bad. Unfortunately we both ended up with colds. So far no fevers so we are staying clear of the doctor. We will miss him but never forget the fun memories…. Ellie just home from the hospital with Papa Joe. I know Papa isn't in this picture but Pedretti's Bakery in Elkader was his legacy. This is Ellie being weighed in the bakery scale, a tradition with all of the kids. We love you, Dad. I swear sh...

The Schmidt Family: June 2010

Friday, June 25, 2010. Ellie has officially completed her first year of swimming lessons.Puddle Jumpers. How cute is that? She was a little timid the first day not knowing what to do or expect. This little fishy caught on quick and is blowing bubbles, kicking, letting us hold her to back float, and going under all by herself! Working on those kicks while front floating. Look at that champ going all the way under, woohoo! The dreaded back float that is now a success! Getting ready to jump in. That’s...

The Schmidt Family: December 2010
http://kschmidtfamilynews.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 6, 2010. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We haven't made it out to play in the snow yet since it's only 15 degrees but Ellie went out to help Daddy shovel on Saturday. That’s about as greedy and generous as you can get! This year we are continuing some traditions and starting up new ones. Ellie and I went to see the Nutcracker again this year, a tradition we started last year that will probably always be my favorite. Charlie showed up in Ellie's room the first day. I canR...

Monday, November 15, 2010. Help For A Friend. Remember that friend from grade school who always made you laugh.laugh to the point where milk was coming out of your nose? Well, that was my friend Courtney. Courtney was everything you could want in an elementary school friend.she was kind, she was intelligent, she wore cool clothes and had a pool in her backyard! Of course, what was important then isn't quite as important now! I can't remember the last time I laughed as much as I did that year! Courtney an...

The Duve Family: Could It Be?
http://duvefamily.blogspot.com/2011/02/could-it-be.html
Thursday, February 10, 2011. Has it REALLY been 3 months since I last posted? Where has the time gone? Since my last post we have celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.and here we are, just about ready to celebrate Valentine's Day. What does Valentine's Day mean to you? For most of us it means celebrating with a romantic dinner, the giving of cards and presents and spending time with the one we love! Congenital Heart Disease is considered to be the most common birth defect, and is a leading.
