Sunday, March 30, 2008. Spring, Summer, or Winter? I can't tell WHAT season it is out there right now. This past week was beautiful spring/summer weather, cool in the morning - nice and warm during the day - and cooling off in the evening. On Friday it even got close to 80! I was able to take my goddaughter to the beach and play in the surf (though the water was cold.she had fun "stomping" the beach). Thursday, April 19, 2007. Lots of little ones coming into the world shortly.watch out. In the past few months and next upcoming months many of my friends will be giving birth to their first or second child. One weekend I even had 2 babyshowers - on in DC and one in Hampton Roads. That was a fun-filled weekend with lots of driving. Just 3 weeks ago my college roomate and sorority sister gave birth to a very cute little boy. I just got to see him this past weekend. I could spend a week alone just exploring the streets and sights of Dublin. Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Have you ever experienced those days when it seems all you do is go from one meeting to another? That was my day yesterday. It started with the first meeting at 8:00 am and didn't end until amost 6:00 pm. I know I do. I can only imagine what it must be like to have a job where there isn't rows of cubes with computers, fax machines, and urgent staff work that is needed yesterday. Thursday, August 17, 2006. It takes longer for an adult to heal after an injury or surgery than it does a child. Why, I don't know - haven't gotten the answer yet. But all I know is that I had surgery on my nose (deviated septum). No this is not plastic surgery - all was done on the inside of my nose. Finally I had enough. Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Two years ago a co-worker challenged me to train for and run a half marathon - I did it and had a blast. Two weeks ago, a friend who I volunteer with at the zoo mentioned how she was looking at training for a triathlon. I thought.want an awesome idea! So I decided to join her. Tuesday, June 19, 2007. 1 Mowing the lawn:. I am so thankful to have great neighbors. While I was in transition from the apartment to the house one of my neighbors was nice enough to come over and mow the yard for me. Sadly, yet funny enough - they ran out of gas - so there was a small section in the back that just kept growing. Finally I bought a mower from a co-worker so I could continue tackling the yard. Thursday, February 28, 2008. One of the great things about being in the Air Force is having mandatory physical fitness training three times a week. As it provides me with a mandatory time and place to exercise. As we prepare for our annual fitness exam, each month we are conducting a mock PT test to gage where we are at so we can work on the areas that need improvement: mile and a half run, push-ups, sit-ups, and abdominal measurements. Wednesday, September 06, 2006. It took 3 hours and 14 minutes, but I did it. I completed the VA Beach Rock and Roll Half Marathon. Two weeks before the race I was back out again training running and walking intervals. Five miles was the most I could do.not good. The weekend prior to the race I went out and attempted a 9-10 mile run/walk to see how I would do and what the time looked liked. The race officially started at 7AM.
