In diesem Lernprogramm werden Algorithmen zur Erkennung und Vermeidung von Deadlocks (Verklemmungen). In Betriebssystemen behandelt. In Form eines Tutorials wird der Deadlockbegriff erläutert und eine lehrbuchähnliche Einführung in das Prinzip und die Funktionsweise der Deadlock-Algorithmen gegeben. Dabei beschränkt sich dieses Lernprogramm auf die Behandlung der folgenden Verfahren:. Deadlock-Vermeidung durch den Bankier-Algorithmus. Deadlock-Erkennung mit Hilfe von Betriebsmittelgraphen.

Der Binomial Heap Algorithmus. Eine Vorrangwarteschlange (Priority Queue) speichert Elemente unterschiedlicher Priorität. Beispielsweise werden in einer Druckerwarteschlange Druckaufträge gespeichert. Es ist auf effiziente Weise möglich neue Elemente einzufügen und das Element mit der höchsten Priorität zu entnehmen. Der Binomial Heap Algorithmus verwaltet solch eine Vorrangwarteschlange. Kerninhalte in empfohlener Reihenfolge. Systemvoraussetzungen und Hinweise bei technischen Problemen.

Oldenburger Lernprogramme zur Informatik (OLLI). Die Lernprogramme in dieser Sammlung wurden im Projekt "Medienunterstützes Studium der Informatik" ( MuSIk. An der Carl-von-Ossietzky Universität entwickelt, um Lehrveranstaltungen der Informatik zu ergänzen. Die Lernprogramme sollen trockenen Stoff lebendig machen.
