Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Headline: "Teacher Wears Omani Turban in Classroom - Causes Commotion! I decided to bring my maroon-and-white checked turban. To school today to celebrate the end of the academic session. I bought it at the old Arabic market in Muscat a few weeks ago for the amazingly low price of Omani Rial 1.500 (US$3.80). It was also the high point of the football season - the Arabian Cup. After several months of observing students' head dress, I had decided the "Lawrence of Arabia".

Friday, December 4, 2009. Eid al-Adha Celebration with Nasser in Sumail #1/4. My good friend, Nasser, invited me to come down to visit him and celebrate Eid, at the end of Ramadan. His village located in the mountains about 60 km. or 45 minutes from the university on an interstate highway. He's the one standing in the middle with the light-gold dishdasha. At least 24 hours. This was really enjoyable for me, and I didn't have a clue about what was happening before I got there. Please leave your comments.
