The Purple Dev Blog: September 2012
http://sam-ablett-pdgdy2.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, 15 September 2012. Post Mortem and a New Blog. I'm a bit late posting this but Jonny and Gina wrote up a nice post mortem of Spin Doctor here. I wanted to record the levels I made but decided not to after Jonny posted a speed run, which he's now deleted like a cad. I'll get round to it later and edit this I suppose. Now that year 3 has begun I'll be posting on a new blog, which you can find here. Rambled inconsequentially by Sam Ablett. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Manchester, United Kingdom.

The Purple Dev Blog: December 2011

Wednesday, 14 December 2011. Pre-Christmas Design Wrap Up. No pretty pictures this time, this ones just for the benefit of marking since Ive not blogged much on my written work towards the documents. This isnt my total creative input towards design, its just a list of the stuff Ive contributed to the two documents, mostly the first since it was my task to assemble, condense and clarify the text. This Editor thing is about as hard as I expected itd be a few months ago when I first realised Farseer would need to be involved within WinForms. This is one of those times when I severely regret being right. Rambled inconsequentially by Sam Ablett. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Manchester, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. The Purple Dev Blog: May 2012

Wednesday, 30 May 2012. Just a quick update really, can't show it in a screenshot, but felt it was an annoying enough beast to celebrate defeating it with a jagged array! Never said I planned it because frankly I didn't know how, but Ben gave me the idea and we now have undo/redo functionality! Update - moving objects doesn't undo properly, been trying and failing to fix this problem for a while so I'll move on for now and come back to it later, maybe I'll have an epiphany). The Purple Dev Blog: Progress!
http://sam-ablett-pdgdy2.blogspot.com/2012/04/progress.html
Wednesday, 18 April 2012. We're actually making some! Now we've got to continue implementing objects for creation, most of which need some small changes at least, and sort out rotation in the editor. Which, now that I remember, also needs a zoom function. Eventually I'll get round to that whole level setup thing too, but the core functionality is mostly done now. If I can I'll take a look at the zoom tomorrow, we'll be in working on the rest before the lesson though. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Saturday, 26 November 2011. The Meta Post - Blogging Code Snips. Working, which you can now see proudly on my previous post. If anyone else wants to use this for Blogger then Ill save you the headache with a simple guide. Rambled inconsequentially by Sam Ablett. The Purple Dev Blog: More Progress, Glitch Ahoy
http://sam-ablett-pdgdy2.blogspot.com/2012/05/more-progress-glitch-ahoy.html
Tuesday, 29 May 2012. More Progress, Glitch Ahoy. Movement lines draw ok, there's a marker for the center of the level, and objects can be rotated in the editor now. Woo. On the downside, I've found out that resizing the window does something strange to the grid and movement lines. For now my solution is to say "Don't resize the window." - I'll get everything else working first, this is pretty minor and can be worked around til we get to it, even if it is annoying.
