Finally an awesome build. Posted on June 27, 2011. After so much difficulty with the huxley, I’ve finally come to a good build. I decided to print out a mini wade extruder because the bowden is what is causing a lot of problems right now. As you can see from the following photos that I had to put wood screws into the bowden cable so it doesnt get pushed out. This was where the printer kept failing. Posted on June 27, 2011. After some adjustments in Skeinforge, I wanted to print out something a little personal so I created a name plate using Tinkercad. Tinkercad is a free and easy to use web-based program which will let you share on thingiverse.com. And also let you download the .stl file. If others created something on thingiverse, they can share it with you and you can adjust it right online very quickly. Here is a screenshot of tinkercad:. RepRap - Rapid Prototyping Documentation. Pyramid Print – Testing for strings. Posted on July 3, 2011. I saw that this pyramid (made by 3dprinterbot on thingiverse. Temperature is another value I will change. Im thinking of reducing it to 225C instead of 230C, maybe this will help make the plastic more controllable. Just don’t want the temp too low because that will cause plastic to not flow causing pressure on the whole system. Ok enough blabbing, pictures speak 1000 words. String Calibration - Pyramid Print. Printing a Curved Container. Posted on July 9, 2011. I decided to try at a print which involves curves and thus hanging edges enough to just stick to the previous layer to test out the efficiency of the machine. I used this pot from thingiverse: http:/ www.thingiverse.com/thing:3781. I learned lots. belts slipped. Gears slipped. Temperatures varied. and I was watching this thing for 3.5 hours. Enjoyable to watch for sure, but definitely needs to be calibrated more to be reliable. Here are some photos:.
