Why I Refuse to Use People First Language. 1 It is insulting. It makes it sound like our disabilities are diseases when they are not. I have asthma. Yes, it is a disease. Of the lungs. And so it happened this week- I received the dreaded "Your daughter just fell from the high beam" call from the gym on Thursday, and two hours later, Anna was rolling out of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Urgent Care with her first gymnastics team "badge of courage.". Definitely Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino with extra caramel drizzle worthy in my books! Anna has enjoyed visits from cousins and gym friends as well as cards and cookies from church friends.

A few of my favorites. In case you were wondering, YES, I did make it back from the Philippines. I have had to "catch up on life" as I often call it and still am just now catching my breath. The things that are happening here are more than exciting as Father carves out our next steps just in time. I feel like I am constantly holding my breath, and then I remember to exhale the temptation to doubt and ask too many questions, breath in His Spirit, and walk forward with Him. There's no greater adventure!
