On an Other Life: 07.2008
http://onanotherlife.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
On an Other Life. Attack on The Dark Knight. Hits on all the things that make Nolan's Batman. A brilliant deconstruction of the superhero myth. And yet he remains well in the dark (hey, cheap rhetoric begets cheap rhetoric, yeah? Links to this post. The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Directed by Chris Carter. Written by Frank Spotnitz and Chris Carter. And Billy 'You Couldn't Hate Me If I Were A Paedophile Priest Like I'm Supposed To Be In This Movie' Connolly. As cruel and unusual as that would have been f...

On an Other Life. M John Harrison's Signs of Life: in the end. If there were ever any doubts in my mind as to Mr Harrison's ability to deconstruct, demolish and degrade the most opaque, sturdy and 'dignified' (i use each of these words, particularly the last, in the loosest, most forgiving sense) of personalities, having produced his most apparently solid, full-spirited characters in Signs of Life. Such doubts have been laid to rest, terminally and irresurrectibly, by the latter half of that book.
On an Other Life: The Dark Knight
http://onanotherlife.blogspot.com/2008/07/dark-knight.html
On an Other Life. Directed by Christopher Nolan. Written by Christopher and Jonathan Nolan. Starring Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Morgan Freeman. The Nolan Batman is as far afield from the old Adam West vehicle as you could possibly get with the same set of characters, and yet they share at least one thing in common: an obsessive focus on symbolism. The effect, i find, is a more subtle, but also more effective, kind of surrealism. In fact,...

On an Other Life. Moonlighting, Season 3 Episode 11: Blonde on Blonde. Written by Kerry Ehrin. Directed by Jay Daniel. Series created by Glenn Gordon Caron. I had decided long ago that i wouldn't write reviews. but, hell, this deserves something as excessively overwrought as everything that follows. if you have a low tolerance for bad puns, melodrama and cliche, steer clear of this post.). But four episodes later (with, admittedly, a couple low-fizzlers in the mix), they knock my socks off with. The show...

On the Other Hand
On the Other Hand. Thoughts that guided me subconsciously for a lifetime. Thursday, December 29, 2016. If I could go back. This is the first time someone else's words have appeared here, but if I could go back to 1988, I would take this and read it to my children, and then we would talk about it. Perhaps my granddaughter might need this someday. I definitely could have used it when I was 11 or 12. Sorry, this is dumb but-". Dream so big it's silly. Laugh so hard it's obnoxious. It's a big world. As one c...

On Another Man's Blog | The Historical Conquests of an MA Student
On Another Man's Blog. The Historical Conquests of an MA Student. March 14, 2011. Work on the thesis has been slow at best recently. Over the past two weeks I have been swamped with other course work, meaning that my dedication to the thesis (and this blog! Has been pretty minimal which is unfortunate. Have been incredibly helpful in trying to get a grasp on this topic. More on this topic soon hopefully. February 22, 2011. For my thesis I am going to examine the role of Michael MacWhite in the developmen...

OnAnotherMission
March 4, 2012. This little mission we went on without my sister or Kir so it was a true test of everything we had learned thus far about portuguese and Brazilian culture. It all went very smooth except for the very end which turned into a bit of an adventure where we just kinda flew by the seat of our pants and made the best of an interesting encounter. We spent the next four days on the island exploring everything we missed the first time and revisiting all the things we loved from our first visit.

Last month (May 2012) a musician named HARRY MERRY from Rotterdam came over to London to play at a papershakers night. His performance was exceptional as always. The next morning after little sleep and a run to the train station that I will never forget Harry got to Resonance FM radio to record a live session, HERE. OR here is something more instant.
