Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: June 2010
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Wednesday, 23 June 2010. Day 4- Lake Garda. We spent our 4th day in Italy at Lake Garda. If you know my husband at all, you know that he is a lake man. So, we decided to spend the whole day touring the southern end of the lake. We started off our day in a town called Sirmione. Sirmione is located on a small peninsula at the southern end of the lake. When we crossed the drawbridge to enter the old town, we were greeted by Scagliera Castle. We left Sirmione and h...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: Family Photo Shoot-Swap
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2011/07/family-photo-shoot-swap.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 22 July 2011. I usually like to have our family picture taken for our annual Christmas card. But last year, I didn't know what to do, since my good friend (and amazing photographer) Christy, had moved back to the States. Well, when we were leaving our friends' wedding back in October, we drove right past the sweetest little walking bridge. I told Ethan as soon as I saw it that that is where we needed to have our family picture taken! 19 August 2011 at 1...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: A Year of PWOC
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2011/09/year-of-pwoc.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 2 September 2011. A Year of PWOC. One of the reasons that my blog did not stay up-to-date last year was because I served as the President for the PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) at our base. It was a lot of responsibility, but it was incredibly fulfilling (and I pray, that it was glorifying to God). We were given a fabulous theme for the year which was "Shine in the Light of His Glory.". Complete with a chuck-wagon to serve the meal from. I wrote ...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: Christmas 2010
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2011/08/christmas-2010.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Tuesday, 30 August 2011. We felt particularly blessed this past holiday season because we were able to spend both Thanksgiving and Christmas with family! Ethan's mother and brother spent a week with us over the Christmas holiday. But before they arrived, a few festivities already took place, including the children's annual school Christmas pageant. (How I will miss these after we move home! Both Tim and Maddie played the part of angels this year (how fitting!

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: April 2010

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Tuesday, 27 April 2010. Housestead's Fort and Hadrian's Wall. After our day at Alnwick Castle, we drove down to a town called Hexham and stayed the night at a place called the Boatside Inn (we highly recommend it by the way- real ales, good food, and great rooms). Anyway, the next morning we went to see Hadrian's Wall. Construction began in the year 122 AD. Feel free to click on the video below. I took so many pictures that day that I decided to put them to...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: December 2010
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 31 December 2010. What a fun Halloween we had this year! Tim and Collin dressed up as skeletons, and Maddie was a black cat. We once again went to the Halloween festivities on base. They had all sorts of kids' games and crafts, and even face-painting. (And yes, they take their face-painting very serious around here.). Wednesday, 29 December 2010. A (mostly) British Wedding. I was so excited about attending a British wedding! The wedding was so lovely...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Sunday, 5 September 2010. Back in June, our church had it's annual barbecue at a local farm. It was organized by my friend Debbie, who is an American. She is fabulous at organizing our church's events, and tells how it has taken her years to "train" the Brits how to do church functions American-style. How preposterous of me for asking! The ice-cream sundae bar was a hit! Leave it to us Americans to teach other cultures how to make something bigger and better.

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: March 2010
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 12 March 2010. My Maddie Jane turned 6 years old last week. Happy Birthday to my big girl, who of course, is growing too fast. On her birthday, we went to the Wacky Warehouse for some ball-pit fun, followed by dinner at the adjoining pub. We then went home for cake and presents. Our present to her this year was a doll house. I won it for only 20 pounds which is less than $40! I was so excited! It looks like it was hand-made with love. Again, the girls s...
