http://uniqueguitar.blogspot.com/2010/10/electric-travel-guitars.html
Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Today we will look at electric travel guitars. There are a lot of acoustic and acoustic/electric travel instruments, but for now we will mainly look at electric travel guitars. The first electric travel guitar I ever played was the Chiquita. Luthier Mark Erlewine and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame designed this guitar in the late 1970’s. Despite its small size, it was a joy to play. Hondo stopped distribution of the Chiquita in 1985. I have often seen Johnny Winter photographed wi...

http://uniqueguitar.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-gibson-sg-most-unique-guitar.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. The Gibson SG - A Most Unique Guitar. When I was 13 years old, I would arrive for my guitar lesson about an hour early at Dodds Music. That way I could check out all the new guitars. I can recall when the store had this beautiful guitar that I had ever seen. It was a Gibson SG Custom. In my opinion, the SG shape has to be one of the most original guitar designs. It was shaped like no other guitar at the tim. E Gibson gave it the designation SG which stood for solid guitar.

Sunday, October 26, 2014. The Gibson Musical Instrument Corporation owes a debt of thanks to several great guitarists; Peter Green, Eric Clapton and Michael Bloomfield come to mind. It is my opinion that these these fellows brought back popularity to the Les Paul guitar, in an era where most guitarists were playing a Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, or a Gibson ES-335. Among his early supporters were B. B. King, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan and Buddy Guy. Bloomfield used to say, 'It's a natural...Michael B...

Thursday, September 1, 2011. Quite a few years ago, in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, there was a department store called Swallens. This company specialized mainly in furniture, appliances, and electronics. In the late 1970’s Swallens started offering a few musical instruments, mainly Gretsch guitars, for sale. This may have been because Cincinnati was home to the Baldwin Piano Company. Which at the time owned the Gretsch Company. I will also mention that Duke Kramer. Duke Kramer of Gretsch. And I haven’t written a doggone thing. 9835; Who’s the leader of the club, that’s made for you and me? 9834; ♫. The Mario Maccaferri Guitar, was modeled afte...
