Pilgrim to Lake Michigan: 4/1/10 - 5/1/10
http://reneepilgrim.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Pilgrim to Lake Michigan. April 06, 2010. At the park, we hiked in a little ways and found the two trees we used last year next to an empty picnic table. I pulled out the hammock and its forty feet of webbing and began tying knots. “See now,” I said, “don’t you feel bad that we’re out here and Coconut is inside? Don’t you want to put the cat on a leash? Labels: assignments for workshop. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). So many books, so little time. Lit, by Mary Karr. The Subtle Body, by Stefanie Syman.

Pilgrim to Lake Michigan. December 17, 2010. On Grandparents, Birthdays, and Anniversaries. Today, my Grandma B is 85 years old. Yesterday, Grandpa Tony would have been 80 years old. Yesterday, I was glad Grandpa wasn't in pain anymore - that he could spend his birthday pain-free, wherever he is now. Today, I'm super sad he's not around to celebrate their 80-ness together. Is it strange that I miss him more today, on Grandma's birthday, than I did yesterday on his birthday? Grandpa was the sentimental on...

A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench. Surgery December 19, 2008. 8212; Jennifer @ 7:56 pm. We would like to thank you all for your faithful prayers, notes of encouragement, phone calls, etc. The last few weeks – and months – have been frustrating, and our appointment with Josiah’s neurosurgeon yesterday brought some of the waiting to an end. 8221; I think the surgeon summed it up very clearly. The surgery date has been set for January 2, barring any health problems. A...

Saturday, October 22, 2011. Children: more work than you want, more rewarding than you deserve. I have also been surprised by how excited I am when they grow older and bigger. Carrie is always saying how sad she is that her "babies" are not as small as they used to be. All I can think is that I can't wait until they can crawl, talk, walk and someday learn to intentionally scare mom. I have very minimal nostalgia for their previous phases. Just my thoughts. Anybody else have a similar experience?

Metanoia: The Kingdom of Transformation. 8220;Now, with God’s help, I shall become myself.” - Søren Kierkegaard. I am a post-fundamentalist, post-modern pilgrim, who at most professes to be trying to become a Christian (as Kierkegaard would say) as I seek to learn what it means to live as part of a Kingdom where the first is last and the servant is the greatest, and where the least of these is of deep importance. Pilgrim to Lake Michigan. June 10, 2011. 30: All of these lines across my face. Tell you the story of who I am. Tonight Brandi Carlile performed outside downtown Pittsburgh as part of the Three Rivers Arts Festival. As she took the stage, she said it was probably the largest crowd she had ever performed for. Was soundtracking my move and adjustment to Pittsburgh. It's hard to let the miles pass me by. I walked home crying. Lucky thing it was through a park and no one saw. On Monday, I will turn 30. These...
