Friday, July 24, 2009. About 2 weeks ago, at 10pm on Wednesday night, we received a phone call from our adoption agency. The birth mom who was delivering a boy the next day had chosen another family, but we were matched with another birthmom and her baby girl- also scheduled for induction the next day. Saturday, June 27, 2009. Well, the roller coaster has begun. Thankfully, ours is one of the little kiddie turtle rides. This past Monday, our adoption agency called to match us with a baby whose birth was scheduled to be induced this Tuesday. Yes, the Tuesday that was one day after this past Monday! Sunday, May 10, 2009. But who is his real mom? No one has yet asked me that about Ben, but from what others say, I'll get it more than once about a transracially adopted child. It's a sensitive question for mothers of adopted kids. They are after all, their kids' moms. Their real. Moms Just not their birth moms. And so it is a painful and insulting question. Monday, June 27, 2011. Rock Hunting with Uncle Bill! What a blast. We went to Grantsville and found Horn coral, Bryozoa, Organ Pipe and Brachiopods. Uncle Bill gave us all the rules before hiking up the hill and we were off! Hammers and buckets in hand. Everywhere you looked there were some sort of Horn Coral from millions of years ago.
