Staying in the wilderness, or not chasing that goal. Or what it’s like to run the best race of your life. May 5, 2014. May 5, 2014. I’ve been trying to write this post for nearly 2 weeks now and I just cannot get a handle on the angle I should be taking. Should I tell you about all the great stuff I did with my mother? About all the wonderful friends I saw and spent time with? The superstars I collared for a photo? Or just the race? To do well, to run strong, to. Jess – my wonderful hostess upon ar...

Staying in the wilderness, or not chasing that goal. April 26, 2013. I really don’t know what to write here. I’m writing to gain some clarity rather than to present you with an overall edited view of the past 2 weeks, as I really don’t know what I think or feel. Walking towards the green start. Waiting around at the start, spending my time endlessly queuing for the loo. I was met by lovely friends afterwards and my wonderful husband and feted and admired and looked after. I got such lovely texts and ...

Staying in the wilderness, or not chasing that goal. A race, interrupted training and the new year. January 11, 2015. So I ran the race. And I loved it. I never really understand that I don’t race much, have to be coaxed into racing and then when I do it I love it. Why do I resist doing something I enjoy? Most times (London 2013 was an exception) I am beaming from ear to ear,… Continue reading A race, interrupted training and the new year. Middot; next marathon. December 5, 2014. December 5, 2014. Brendan's Running Diary: Small Steps.....
http://runbriceyrun.blogspot.com/2013/08/small-steps.html
My return to running in 2007 after a 14 year 'rest' has proven to be both challenging and enjoyable. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. I took my first small steps back into the racing world last weekend. It was only a 4km run leg as part of a super sprint triathlon but it was a start. If triathlons are your thing I'd highly recommend the Dublin City Triathlon. Good course, great atmosphere, well organised and most importantly. jam packed goodie bags. Only one person passed me (a chick but a very fast one! Now it...

My return to running in 2007 after a 14 year 'rest' has proven to be both challenging and enjoyable. Sunday, March 23, 2014. Since my 'hopeful' post in August my life and running have taken an unintended course. Running wise the latter part of 2013 was mixed but by December a plan was hatched (even written down! And it could have ended up in running the Cork Marathon in June. I had a few good runs and was on course to build a decent base. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. UCC AC - 1991.

My return to running in 2007 after a 14 year 'rest' has proven to be both challenging and enjoyable. Monday, June 1, 2015. Winter and Spring 2015 - rebirth? So it appears that this blog is destined to be updated on a 6 monthly basis. Since the start of the year I've been training on and off, probably more off than on to be honest, largely as a result of those 'real world issues'. Today I took part in my first track and field meet since 1993 or there abouts.it's been a while! Today I entered the 400m, 80...

Brendan's Running Diary: In the beginning....
http://runbriceyrun.blogspot.com/2008/09/in-beginning.html
My return to running in 2007 after a 14 year 'rest' has proven to be both challenging and enjoyable. Tuesday, September 9, 2008. So, today (9th September 2008) I'm finally entering the world of blogging. My wife, Pamela, has been saying to me for some time now that I should start a blog (I think that this was just so that I'd have another outlet for my fanatical ramblings rather than her having to listen to me! So I here I go. In January 2007 I decided it was time to s* t or get off the pot! I was accept...

My return to running in 2007 after a 14 year 'rest' has proven to be both challenging and enjoyable. Thursday, October 11, 2012. I can't believe that the summer is over (it never really started did it? And it's nearly the middle of October already! Wow where has this year gone. It only seems like yesterday that we were planning a family holiday in Boston - and that was last Thanksgiving! Now, I'm beginning to think of Christmas and some goals (running wise) for 2013. Training log earlier tonight. Hopeful...
