Thursday, August 20, 2009. Max and Maggie looked so peaceful this morning, lying around in bed, that I decided to pull out the digital and film them snoozing. Typically, Max sleeps through anything. Even a loud vacuum that is no more than a couple of feet away, which has caused us to wonder whether he has a hearing deficit, or just select hearing. But this morning for some reason, Max hears me and groggily gets up to greet me. Did I mention that this guy usually sleeps through anything? Kittens in a Box.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Finally', we can put away the heavy duty gear : sweaters, mitts and coats, and break out the light-weight cotton. Yaaay! Friday, November 2, 2012. We have a live one! Who needs fancy pet store cat toys! What I ended up with has been nothing short of brilliant as Thomas absolutely LOVES playing with my invention. I call it Tether Ball for Cats. Here it is . From the moment I hung up this toy, Thomas has become just a jumping fool. He jumps so much and so frequently, that he almost does backflips in trying to catch the ball in mid-swing. Below is a video of Thomas playing with his tether ball. Flea Free - We think (hope)!

Friday, January 21, 2011. For the Love of Elephants! Last evening I watched a documentary on CBC's Nature of Things program, entitled For the love of Elephants. This program featured the incredible work of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a wildlife refuge in Nairobi, Kenya, which is dedicated to rescuing orphaned baby elephants that have lost their mothers and elephant familiers to poaching or human/animal conflict.
