One day I will make it up a hill. Monday, 31 December 2012. I'm by no means a fair weather runner, and a little, or even a lot of wind and rain can make for an exhilarating and enjoyable experience. There's something great about going out for a run through the mud too, it's a childlike indulgence - getting as cacked up as possible and it doesn't matter - I like. But really. One day I will make it up a hill. Sunday, 3 November 2013. Today I took Baby OneHill for a brisk walk. We walked along the river path (Baby OneHill staring up, captivated by the trees and sky over him) to Matlock, then through the park and up the aptly named Steep Turnpike. I even resisted Costa ;-). One day I will make it up a hill. Wednesday, 18 September 2013. Here he is :-). Well he certainly wasn't keen on making an appearance. He was 12 days overdue when I finally went into hospital to have my labour induced, and there followed a further 30ish hours of trying everything possible to get him to come out the traditional way, before finally, he was born 14 days late, weighing in at 8lbs 3oz, on 5th September, by cesarean section! A couple of weeks ago I was starting to despair - the house wasn't straight, the garden was becoming a nightmare, work is just so relentless that it seemed a bit too much to keep on top of. It's been a lovely weekend - Friday night I just happened to spot, on The Barley Mow at Bonsall's Facebook feed, that an old friend's fella from Nottingham was playing - I text to see if she'd be there too and she was! So I hot footed it over, and we had a brilliant catch up between listening and singing along to Steve on the piano (he's an amaaaaazing musician! Last weekend was good too - I did my first fell race in at least a couple of years!
