Simplicity: August 2015

Doing Simple Things Well. Monday, August 31, 2015. One of the most fundamental of card-making tools is the bone folder. This handy tool allows you to fold even 120# card stock without it looking like a kindergartner folded a piece of construction paper against the grain and awkwardly pressed the crease. My apologies if I offended any kindergartners. Then, it looks just fine. If the paper is thick, even folding with the grain looks better when you've scored. So you need a bone folder. And a butter knife.

Take a look at what I've been creating. October 7, 2016. Penny Black creative dies. The trees around here still have plenty of green on them but we are beginning to see gorgeous colour too. Have a great weekend and Happy Thanksgiving Canadians! Vintage photo, crushed olive, peeled paint distress inks and stains(Ranger). Cold pressed watercolour paper, brown cardstock, green textured cardstock. September 30, 2016. I added the berry branches here and there, an extra shadow for a snow bank and a sentiment.

Take a look at what I've been creating. Baby, it’s cold outside. November 2, 2016. What's in your cup. Penny Black creative dies. I die-cut the cup using the ‘what’s in your cup? 8217; die set. This set comes with the cup, cream, steam, teabag plus more detail pieces. I cut the pieces out of hot pressed watercolour paper, coloured them with distress markers and blended the colour with water. I have one more ‘winter warmth’ card to share tomorrow. What’s in your cup? Chipped sapphire, black soot, festive ...

Take a look at what I've been creating. Spring in the city. May 29, 2016. Dr Ph Martin Hydrus watercolor paints. I created this card way back in the dead of winter when I was using the ‘soft whisper’ tree stamp to create snowy scenes. I set it aside and it got buried under other projects. I need to post it now as Ottawa seems to have had its 15 minutes of spring and marched straight in to summer. I hope you are enjoying some pretty scenery where you are. Dr Ph Martin’s Hydrus watercolours. August 16, 2015.
