The design evolved from a few product decisions: I wanted to use this dance acetate from a Messy Box kit. Thursday, December 8, 2016. Once upon a time I got snowed in on Christmas Day and couldn’t go anywhere. And then I made a layout about it. Let’s talk about the layout. Here’s the thing: grid layouts are a bit of a challenge for me. I struggle to layer things on the different parts of the grid. Yet grids are a great way to use up multiple cards I have a bunch left from my time as a Messy Box subscriber. So I’ve got to go for the grid every now and then. My process video for this one is short and sweet.

Wednesday, July 13, 2016. I love it when my niece gets into the spirit of a photo shoot. These photos were taken at her sixth birthday party last year. And how time flies birthday number seven is coming up this month. Crazy! So it’s good I’m getting to these. Let’s talk about the layout. I created it for a challenge on the Victoria Marie Facebook group. The challenge was NOT to use gold, enamel dots, washi tape, Thickers (ouch), or only one photo. I did lots of mixing and matching when it came to products. The color scheme originated with my planner pages, so I started with green and dark pink and went from there. I had no voice in my head telling me to write things- other than a grocery list. All my favorite scrapbook stores closed. My card stock stash gathered dust. Anything I tried to do felt flat. I lost my creative spirit. I lost my ability to pay attention to long term things and read long books. I lost 40 pounds. It kind of sucked. Three very long years.
