One Motherless Daughter

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. I remember holding her hand while driving to the hospital for her radiation. We knew her last day was coming. IT wasn't a matter of if it would come because of brain cancer, it was when would it come. I loved and hated those car drives. It was an opportunity to share precious moments while we could. We had all this time together with no distractions, time to talk. Not much was said though. What do you say? The next day was Thursday and I remember thinking of all days "Please ...

One Motherless Daughter: Perfume & Pearls

http://www.onemotherlessdaughter.blogspot.com/2010/05/perfume-pearls.html

Sunday, May 9, 2010. Today I wore her perfume and pearls. Her perfume reminds me of her special nights out with Dad. I would watch her apply her makeup and get excited to wear it myself someday, to be like her. When she was out on a date with Dad, and I missed her I would go and smell her perfumes and play with her jewelry. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

One Motherless Daughter: I Needed Her Today

http://www.onemotherlessdaughter.blogspot.com/2010/09/i-needed-her-today.html

Monday, September 13, 2010. I Needed Her Today. I remember a little over five years ago, I had just had my first little baby. At the time I only lived a few miles from my Mom, so she came to stay for a few days to help. The last weeks of my pregnancy I took early maternity leave. During that time I napped, cleaned, did laundry and made prepared meals to stock the freezer. As I look back on the last five years all I can think is "I do need you Mom. I need you more than ever.". I Needed Her Today.

One Motherless Daughter: It's time

http://www.onemotherlessdaughter.blogspot.com/2010/05/its-time.html

Sunday, May 9, 2010. Today was a hard day. Mother's day often is, or at least has been for the last three years. My subconscious dreads it, and I don't realize it until usually Saturday night when I snap at my sweet husband over some miniscule thing. He then usually asks, "What is wrong Honey? Over the years the reply has gradually changed from "Nothing," to a sincere "I don't know," to "Tomorrow is Mother's Day.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Sorenson Saga: Easter Weekend

http://sorensonsaga.blogspot.com/2012/04/easter-weekend.html

Monday, April 30, 2012. Easter weekend was an eventful weekend at our home. Saturday we went to a historic manor for an Easter Egg Hunt with the children. There was face painting, bag decorating, a scavenger hunt, an egg roll and of course an Easter egg hunt. Dane and Neve had a blast, as did we watching them enjoy the festivities. Dane got the first clue/item of the scavenger hunt! Neve bringing home the win for her Easter egg roll team! It's free, all this loot is free! Her spoils, all three eggs!

One Mother Hen

Who is the chook? Monday, March 26, 2018. Just not cricket and other tv news. What a weekend for news! Cricket. Gun laws and of course in other tv news, Bachelor in Paradise. Yes, I hear your collective groan. I have been lost for good reality tv viewing since I'm a Celeb finished and lets face it, MAFS did not float my boat at all. If the previews for Bachelor have anything do go by, rivers will be cried and hearts broken. I am wondering if Kleenex have missed a good advertising opportunity here. When I...

Running, being a mother and living a clean and whole food (Paleo) lifestyle. I’m training for another “marathon” but, not the kind you think! May 21, 2015. I hope you still remember me? I am popping in to announce that I am currently pregnant with baby #2! Today we finally made it “Facebook official” as the kids call it these days :). Tomorrow I will be 14 weeks and officially into the 2nd trimester! So, you are probably wondering about my running? Well I will tell ya anyway :). I ran the OC half marathon.

I know the name implies the race is a bit tough. but let's be honest. That course is a monster. Truly "one mother of a run." And it was also, for all the pain and suffering, very well organized and a lot of fun to race. I've finished 33 half marathons as of today and am originally from Tennessee, so I've run some pretty wicked courses. Frankly, you folks totally undersell that course. Thanks for the race. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Very challenging Half Marathon- and it was fantastic! There were ...
