Friday, February 27, 2015. These last few weeks, my heart has been full. Death as a matter of course makes us examine our own lives, to draw warm things and people nearer to our hearts. In realizing the fragility of others, we hew to patterns of comfort; we take time to stop and count each moment as a blessing. We tell ourselves that this has changed everything,. The familiar heft of that feeling sticks in my chest, though my copy of it is old and worn. When there is nothing to be done. Links to this post.

http://knittingkiddingcooking.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Knitting and Other Domestic Diversions. Wednesday, October 24, 2012. This past weekend I attended Fiber Fusion Northwest. I purchased this 4.5 pound fleece within 5 minutes of walking in from Reflection Farm. Here's a close up of the crimp and staple, 3 to 3.5 inches:. This will keep me busy for a long time. It’s the time of year students are returning to school and this blog entry is partly for them it’s not a good piece of writing, more a wandering list of thoughts on school, future employment (sometimes called working ) and craft. At work I needed it to plan sales in all three of the industries I’d been in. Sewing from buying fabric to changing pattern properties. Diluting the dog’s shampoo properly 12:1 what? Along wi...

BOOKS and BAIRNS: October 2013
http://booksandbairns.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
I'm a writer and a homeschooling mom. What could possibly go wrong? Thursday, October 31, 2013. Toys, toys, toys! The upside of moving is that I have finally, finally conquered the toy beast. Between Seven's plastic allergy (and the tossing out that had to be done), purging, flooding, and just plain clearing out, I have been able to pare down to the barest of essentials when it comes to the items designated for play. To add to the collection of fifty others littering the floor of my living room. These, p...

I'm a writer and a homeschooling mom. What could possibly go wrong? Monday, October 28, 2013. In further pursuit of fiber as therapy, I cast on a project I had long aspired to create for a babe of my own: the classic Pebble. Since the pattern is written for a newborn-three month size, I tinkered and tweaked and set about knitting up a vest for my 24-month-size Reuven. I overshot more than a hair, as you can see.
