Overtime Management: Covering a 12-hour vacancy
http://overtimemanagement.blogspot.com/2010/05/covering-12-hour-vacancy.html
Monday, May 17, 2010. Covering a 12-hour vacancy. There is no doubt that shiftworkers prefer 12-hour shifts over 8-hour shifts. It's not that they like being at work for an extra four hours. They like the additional 91 days off a year. Therein lies the problem. With so many days off, it seems that the crew you need to get in touch with for absentee coverage is always gone. The single biggest reason, by far, that companies on 12-hour schedules contact us is because of problems with absentee coverage.

Food Safety Modernization Act. The View From the Cheap Seats. Cooking for the Single Man. My Online Writing Portfolio. Friday, March 25, 2011. This movie stars Bradley Cooper from Hangover. This is a great movie. I like the occasional Flowers For Algernon movie and this one is definitely worth the time and money. He takes a pill and suddenly he can use 100% of his brain. Interestingly, he needs to keep taking them. He narrates a lot of the movie and for me, it works. I give this 3.5 stars our of 4.

Overtime Management: October 2010
http://overtimemanagement.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 26, 2010. I am writing a book about Shiftwork Operations in general. The chapter on overtime is easily 4 times longer than any other. It's a complicate topic that is often a moving target and certainly - one size does not fit all. I am planning several posts on the subject of overtime for for now, I just want to put out a few basic principles. I take the time to distinguish between these two because when people talk about overtime, it is almost always in reference to Unscheduled Overtime.

The Wrestling Coach: That's a wrap
http://thewrestlingcoach.blogspot.com/2011/03/thats-wrap.html
View From the Cheap Seats. Saturday, March 26, 2011. The season is over and now its time to start thinking about what's next. First of all, what's not next is sitting around on your butt. I can certainly understand a need to take a break. Wrestling is a tough sport that requires a lot of dedication; especially if you're doing it right. However, you don't want to get burned out. A lot of matches are won by the better conditioned athlete that is able to keep the match alive into the third round. That's...

View From the Cheap Seats. Saturday, February 25, 2012. Way to go Novato! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My goal is to post videos that demonstrate wrestling moves used in high school. These videos are collected from YouTube or from my own collection. I am just putting them all in one place. The new or intermediate high school wrestler is likely to get the most out of this site. However, even a seasoned wrestler may find something useful, a new set up etc. View my complete profile.

The Wrestling Coach: January 2011

View From the Cheap Seats. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. How many times have we heard that and nodded wisely? How many times have we actually thought about what it means to build character? Here are my thoughts on it:. For me, wrestling is only a little bit about learning how to wrestle. The rest of the value comes from overcoming the challenges it places before young men and women as they enter adulthood. It teaches them to show up on time. No employer in the world will long tolerate lateness. My goal is t...
