Thursday, October 20, 2005. One girl in the youth group cannot come bowling, or out to ice cream with us after our meeting. Her parents forbade her to place herself intentionally around boys unless a youth leader comes along. Despite her age, 18, her parents assume she cannot make wise enough decisions and resist temptation. I ask myself, if I feel so ancient, why do I even go to the group?
