History of One Step On. One Step On was founded by Gail Cowley at the School of Stitched Textiles for graduates of City and Guilds in design and Creative Embroidery in 2001. Members wished to help and support one another as they continued with their creative work. I am really looking forward to developing my textile work as a member of One Step On, which I was invited to join in 2014. I enjoy the companionship of working alongside like-minded people. Objectives of One Step On. One Step On was set up by a small group of creative embroiderers who had completed City and Guilds qualifications in Design and Creative embroidery, some to Diploma level. Some members hold relevant degrees and some hold teaching qualifications and are actively involved in teaching. The Group's objectives are:. To promote embroidery and textile art. Catalogues and Price Lists. One Step On is a West Lancashire group of textile artists. Members have qualifications in Design and Embroidery and include textile tutors, textile graduates and award winning embroiderers. A key aim of the group is to exhibit members’ work and to promote textile art. In 2011 and 2012 members entered work into the Gawthorpe Hall Inspired Exhibition.
