The flowers →. St paddy’s day 2015. It’s been a while since we’ve served up a full Irish breakfast ( since 2013. Actually), so Sean and I decided we would invite friends over for dinner on St. Patrick’s Day and do just that. Just setting the table in advance for dinner tonight… full Irish breakfast! Karen Twelves (@ktwelves) March 17, 2015. That, my friends, is a table for 10. So thankful we’ve been saving that old IKEA table down in the garage! It’s super light and the legs screw on and off easily.

We adopted a dog in January, 2016. He’s a dachshund/terrier mix, somewhere around 3-5 years old. So we split the different and declared him 4. He’s been settling in just great. A total lapdog, loves being held. We’re working on some of the separation anxiety that comes along with that. Sean and I were so entertained by this series of photos. That we decided to do our own overly twee photo shoot. My sister took the photos while we were up at my parents’ house early February. Enjoy! Sense8 Indian/German/Me...

Beef and bacon pie revisited. Apartment update →. I’ve gotten into Instagram. More lately (talk about being late to the party) so rather than have all my photos on my camera to sort, edit, and post later, I also posted some shots throughout our Vancouver trip. Here’s a roundup of a few, and another look at our vacation! A photo posted by Karen Twelves (@ktwelves) on. Jun 30, 2015 at 9:45am PDT. Previously the tallest building in the British Empire. Dawwww. Newer posts →. Laziest curling technique ever. I’ve been growing out my hair for a few years now, and it’s definitely gotten long! Time to try all those fancy braids I’ve got pinned. Nope Not enough patience, not enough time. On the days that I do have the time, I’ll curl it a bit, and the results are pretty awesome. birthday breakfast, game of thrones style | twelves
https://twelves.wordpress.com/2014/02/15/birthday-breakfast-game-of-thrones-style
Double birthday all the way! Birthday breakfast, game of thrones style. Here’s my anxiety with cookbooks: I rarely use them. I may take one or two recipes out of a whole book, and make the dish once, and the book sits forever on a shelf. And don’t even get me started with cocktail books. I have about 10. So when I was given A Feast of Ice and Fire. For Christmas, I was determined to make at least one thing from it. Bacon gravy, to be precise. With extra bacon on the side. More birthday fun coming up!

pi day | twelves
https://twelves.wordpress.com/2014/03/02/pi-day
I have been waiting about two years to make this pie. Last year I didn’t get around to ordering the necessary tools in time, so it was another 12 months until it was time. Time for pi(e). The first step is to order a set number cutters. Like, well in advance. And pay attention to the measurements because you might end up accidentally ordering ones that are WAY too big. And then you are left doing a one-day order on some that are okay but smaller. Now pops up on a search quite easily. Notify me of new pos...

Laziest curling technique ever. Beef and bacon pie revisited →. We went to Go Play Northwest. Again this year, and after a few extremely warm days in Seattle we headed north to Vancouver. We stayed with friends and spent every day exploring different parts of the city. Here’s a few snapshots:. Our first full day in Vancouver was July 1st–Canada Day! And of course we couldn’t pass up macrons! Especially these patriotic little guys. The path looped around quite a bit and we passed a lot of decorations in t...

Beef and bacon pie. Laziest curling technique ever →. We had so many photos! I wanted to share a few that didn’t make it into the “official” photobook, which no I still haven’t put online in its entirety:. The morning of, Sean and I had a fancy leftovers breakfast of eggs, toast, onion rings, cheese, and avocado. With hot chocolate in our new latte bowls! Then we parted ways while I got hair, nails, and makeup. Meanwhile, Sean oversaw the set-up at the venue. I rolled up and we got changed! The weather w...
