One Tough Egg: July 2015
http://www.onetoughegg.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. There are many things I never thought I would experience in my life. For a long time, pregnancy was one of them. Well as I wrestled with these notions, life plopped a big old dose of inspiration in front of me. in the form of a rather large orange jug. I haven't written about the ins and outs of pregnancy because every pregnant person has them. I've been tired. My belly itches. I deal with nausea and the like. But, whatever. All the pregnant ladies are doing it. Each time I do this...
One Tough Egg: 40 before 40
http://www.onetoughegg.blogspot.com/p/40-before-40.html
In this effort, I found some entries on blogs with a "bucket list" of sorts. Most of them were 30 before 30. Well, since I left 30 in the dust some time ago, I made a "40 before 40" list. Just typing 40 as an age feels so strange. In truth, it's only 6 years away (AUGH! But, before we get there, I've given myself some goals. I have also given myself some fodder for my blog, as I check off some of these items as I go. So, what made the list? Here's what I came up with:. 5 Get another furbaby. 16 Run a 5K.

http://www.onetoughegg.blogspot.com/p/from-his-side-of-world.html
Not The Egg- The View from His Side of the Infertility Equation. Let's face it. Men and women process this infertility stuff differently. Too many times, we have no idea what is going on in our husband's head. These posts give some insight into the thinking of one half of this infertile couple. The Other Half (Or Hearing His Side of the Infertility Story). Stupid Jokes are Stupid, and So Are Birthdays. The First Day of School or How Nausea is a Good Thing. Saying Goodbye to a Great Man. The Stirrup Queen...
One Tough Egg: Dear Infertility
http://www.onetoughegg.blogspot.com/2015/02/dear-infertility.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2015. I hate you. My mother taught me that hate is a strong word, but in this case, it is completely appropriate and totally justified. I'm not one of those ladies who is writing a love letter to you, telling you how you have taught her how strong and smart she is. I'm not writing a thank you letter either, since I'm not thankful for you at all. Maybe someday I will feel grateful for you, Infertility. Perhaps I will see the strength you brought out in me. Maybe I will feel t...You s...

A journey through infertility, loss, and now.adoption! Navigating the world of infertility can be a bit overwhelming. Here is a list of resources that has been very helpful for me. This is a great website with a wealth of information about infertility and infertility related events. You can even find local support groups in your area through Resolve's website. A Hummingbird Paused: DIY Castor Oil Pack
http://www.ahummingbirdpaused.com/2014/11/diy-castor-oil-pack.html
A journey through infertility, loss, and now.adoption! Monday, November 3, 2014. DIY Castor Oil Pack. Today I put together my first castor oil pack and it didn't feel as strange as I thought it would! If it is indeed an endometrioma, then I'll need surgery to remove it. But, if it's another kind of cyst, there's a good chance it will just go away on it's own. And that's what I'm hoping for. So I've been doing some research and I figured it can't hurt to try the castor oil for a couple of weeks. Next, mak...

I have spent a lot of time wondering “why me? I recently listened to a TED Talk by Andrew Solomon, and he said “if you banish the dragons, you banish the heroes.” And I was so inspired by that idea. Aren’t we all facing dragons of some shape or form? Your real life dragons may not be so glamorous, and most of the t...
A Hummingbird Paused: The Cost of Infertility
http://www.ahummingbirdpaused.com/2014/04/the-cost-of-infertility.html
A journey through infertility, loss, and now.adoption! Sunday, April 20, 2014. The Cost of Infertility. Resolve to know more about infertility. We can chose to live life child-free. This is the most heartbreaking option, because for some it's not a choice. We can pay thousands of dollars for treatment that may or may not work. Or we can just "wait and see" with our fingers crossed that we conceive naturally. For some couples, they will eventually conceive on their own. But for many, t...Well, that's not ...
A Hummingbird Paused: Estrace & Ovulation (or lack of!)

A journey through infertility, loss, and now.adoption! Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Estrace and Ovulation (or lack of! I thought I'd provide an update since this is my first cycle TTC again post-surgery. The problem is, I'm not ovulating! I am SO frustrated right now. And I think I know why. My ovaries are probably complete duds this cycle because I've been drowning them in estrogen for 2 whole months. There has been nothing to signal them to produce mature follicles. So what do I do? DIY Castor Oil Pack.
A Hummingbird Paused: Strength and Vulnerability
http://www.ahummingbirdpaused.com/2014/06/strength-and-vulnerability.html
A journey through infertility, loss, and now.adoption! Saturday, June 7, 2014. I'm in a weird place right now. It's been over 3 years, and I'm not going to say it gets easier. In fact, as time passes I find myself having to make tougher decisions. Decisions that I thought I would never have to make. But I'm making them. I'm weighing the pros and cons. I'm asking myself "am I okay with this? And my answers surprise me. There are no guarantees and I know several women who have walked away from this journey...
