R90 s-capades: January 2012
http://r90scapades.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 9, 2012. Well the final drive is sporting it's new seal and gasket and has been returned to it's proper location at the end of the new "big tube" swingarm. The shock that appears in the photo is a Koni. I have two sets that are the proper length for this bike and are still (with a little ingenuity. Correct and an upgrade from stock. So, The Koni's. Are an option. The coolest thing I've seen are the custom made Race Tech shocks that I purchased for my Harley. Hubs, pink spoke nipples or li...

R90 s-capades: Making a little more progress
http://r90scapades.blogspot.com/2012/02/making-little-more-progress.html
Monday, February 6, 2012. Making a little more progress. Well, I've been busy trying to get the bathroom completed but I got a bit of a break today so I was able to spend some time in the garage! Next, well I have to disassemble the forks again becaure I got a very late email from Matt Wiley explaining that I need to drill a couple more holes in each dampening rod. Not a big deal at this point but time consuming. Then the front wheel, a rolling chassis, and my lift back! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

R90 s-capades: The Final Drive
http://r90scapades.blogspot.com/2012/01/final-drive.html
Wednesday, January 4, 2012. The Final drive is going well. All appears to be is great shape after inspection but I'm replacing the seal and gasket just to be safe. Hope to get it all cleaned up and back together tomorrow. Next? The wheels, The rims are nice but it will be much easier to get the hubs and spokes clean if I disassemble the wheels. I kind of like building and truing wheels anyway! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). One Track Mind Riders. View my complete profile.

R90 s-capades: December 2011
http://r90scapades.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 30, 2011. It winter and I'm finally back in the garage. I am actually excited about getting on with the R90s project and I have made some headway in the last week or so. R bushing/seal at the top (the old one had completely disintegrated). The headlight "ears" had been powdercoated. With the frame so it looks really good to this point. The forks became the next project and I have to say that as nice as the Race Tech products are the assistance was marginal. I had dealt. D came out in chu...

R90 s-capades: And So It Begins
http://r90scapades.blogspot.com/2011/03/and-so-it-begins.html
Monday, March 7, 2011. And So It Begins. Well let the games begin! The bike was disassembled last fall and It was decided that we would purchase a frame strengthening kit from Ken Whitehawk (check out his work under links) which consists of several weld in braces, as well as a "big tube" swingarm which in combination should yield some impressive improvements in handling. This process required sandblasting the frame then shipping it off to a competent welder. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
