Imagery-".the orchids glowed with pale malevolence in the moonlight, a frozen sea against the dark shore of the forest. Mar 8, 2010. What do you think the flying machine was? Who was in it? I think the "flying machine" is really an airplane or helicopter from the past, from the time of the Rusty Ruins people. I'm thinking that Shay and the other ugly escapees are manning the aircraft and searching the area for people that may be trying to find them.
