White Walls: World Vision Cup Brasil
http://www.whitewallsblog.com/2014/05/world-vision-cup-brasil.html
Tuesday, May 27, 2014. World Vision Cup Brasil. I have a confession to make: I completely overlooked the significance of my trip to Brasil. I knew I would love the country, the people, and the experience as a whole but it was not until everyone left to their respective countries that silence took over my mind and heart. I began to truly think about my place in this city, country, and world. Laughing at one another as we tried to communicate was one way of bringing everyone together - the second was soccer.

Thursday, April 24, 2014. Today, My Heart Aches. Today, my heart aches. There is a quote that I stumbled upon that speaks so much truth to my life:. It is both a blessing a curse to everything so very deeply. Two words: ethical consumerism. Every day we have a choice to shop ethically and to truly understand how our actions can impact those we have not even met who are (more often than not) thousands of miles away. It does not have to be a dramatic change where you need to boycott everything you ...And o...

White Walls: March Madness
http://www.whitewallsblog.com/2014/04/march-madness.html
Thursday, April 3, 2014. March Madness" took a whole new meaning this year. I wasn't a fan of last year for a number of reasons, but being just three months into 2014, I am already loving it and here is why. So March was insanity. I was so busy with school, volunteering, job hunting, and pretending to have a social life - it was mayhem. But big news came my way. Dream Come. True. After that I realized I needed to raise some money for my trip and so I sent out the classic e-mail to my family and close fri...

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. 2014 - The Good Bad, The Happy Sad. Because the positives are what keep us going. Just like when someone passes away, we remember the positive aspects of their life and the good times we had and I refuse to dwell on the negatives, so here are a few highlights from 2014:. January - June :. In 2014, I helped run the University of Ottawa World Vision club which is now doing incredible things! I also moved to Toronto. I love it (and you! I decided to stop ignoring my feelings an...

Saturday, March 15, 2014. Coming to the end of my undergraduate degree brings about a lot of different feelings - excited, overwhelmed, scared, sad, happy, nervous - whatever you can think of, I am probably feeling it. We just spent four years (or longer) working our butts off writing late night papers, cramming for exams, balancing work and school, while trying to have s...

White Walls: November 2013

Saturday, November 23, 2013. Reflection: No Child For Sale. My previous post discussed an event that I volunteered at through World Vision Canada. The event was based on World Vision's No Child For Sale. Campaign and was intended to raise awareness and create partnerships to end child slavery. As many of you know, child slavery- specifically human trafficking- is an issue that is very near and dear to my heart. After working in Thailand for ten days in 2012. Working at the ethical consumerism station, I ...
