One Year in the Wake: January 2015
http://oneyearinthewake.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
One Year in the Wake. Reading James Joyce's mysterpiece at a rate of two pages per day. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Yep, I'm still kicking. For a variety of reasons, I've obviously fallen off the Wake. Wagon and gotten way behind on this project. The good news: I'm not giving up. I'll begin reading and posting with renewed spirit on Joyce's birthday, which is coming up on Monday. Of course, I won't meet my goal of finishing the Wake. So yeah, see you again in a few days. One Year in the Wake. Reading James Joyce's mysterpiece at a rate of two pages per day. Monday, October 26, 2015. I am leafy speafing.". 61920-621.8) I've now officially hit the home stretch in this project. The final paragraph of Finnegans Wake. Either on Halloween or All Saints' Day. On to the text. The final paragraph begins with light finally shining down on Dublin: "Soft morning, city! No wind no word. Only a leaf, just a leaf and then leaves.". Or is it only so mesleems? On your pondered palm. ...

One Year in the Wake. Reading James Joyce's mysterpiece at a rate of two pages per day. Saturday, October 24, 2015. Kingen will commen. Allso brewbeer.". 61511-617.29) Consistent with what we've seen before, this version of ALP's letter can be rambling, and shifts direction many times throughout the course of today's passage. Campbell and Robinson do a nice job of listing out the various subjects covered in the letter, so I won't try to replicate their work here. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Elect...

One Year in the Wake. Reading James Joyce's mysterpiece at a rate of two pages per day. Wednesday, September 30, 2015. 57610-577.35) After two days of readings that were fairly unique within the Wake. We move back toward more "conventional" material today. The passage begins with a voice saying, "He sighed in sleep." Another replies, "Let us go back." A third (or is it the first? Ian problem: Who's speaking? I won't summarize the prayer here. It's fairly straightforward on its own. I do like the ...Itsel...

Slow Burn — Slow-cooker Country Captain Chicken | Pie are Round
https://pieareround.com/2015/02/07/slow-burn-slow-cooker-country-captain-chicken
Committed to all things food. And to dispelling the rumor that pie has four corners. Slow Burn — Slow-cooker Country Captain Chicken. By many accounts the most complicated and difficult book ever written then I at least can tell stories and post pictures of my food. We found this recipe for Country Captain Chicken in the slow-cooker, and it seemed to check all the boxes. Including being delicious! Slow-cooker Country Captain Chicken. 1 (28-ounce) can diced peeled tomatoes (do NOT drain). 1 onion, chopped.

Debate: Does ALF Believe in God? By Jake and Glenn. The famed folkie Joan Osborne once pondered a similar question: “What if God Was One of Us? Not to me, and I’m a polytheist. You made the right choice in the election, but the wrong choice in this debate. What you describe here, historical inaccuracies aside, does not make the case that ALF believes in god but rather the case that ALF. How about “The True Book”? 8221; To whom is unclear, but assuming it was our NON-dark lord is extremely reasonable....

One year in Thailand
One year in Thailand. Monday, April 9, 2012. We spent a few days over new year in Chiang Mai. We arrived by overnight train which is definitely a more comfortable way to travel than by bus. It isn't that much more expensive as well. We got into to Chiang Mai early morning, and found accommodation, a motorbike and a map (the three essentials whenever in a new place). In Chiang Mai we checked out many temples and Buddha statues, did some shopping at the local markets and ate lots of tasty Northern Thai food.

One Year in the Wake. Reading James Joyce's mysterpiece at a rate of two pages per day. Sunday, November 1, 2015. 6274-628.16) After noticing HCE's change, ALP knows that her time is up. Just as he is being replaced by the sons, she is being replaced by her daughter. "Be happy, dear ones! She says. "May I be wrong! As we turn to the final page of Finnegans Wake. End here," says ALP in the book's final lines. "Us then. Finn, again! And with those words, the journey has ended. I can now say that I've r...

One Year in the Yukon. News from Whitehorse every Saturday. Et voilà, c’est la fin de cette aventure! Pour terminer en beauté, quelques photos des magnifiques endroits dans la ville que j’ai découverts ces deux dernières semaines. À la prochaine peut-être! Some people consider bread pudding as a traditional French-Canadian recipe, so I could take it to school to let my students taste it, but I’m not sure there will be any left on Monday, seeing how fast it’s being eaten at home! 4 cups warm milk.
