Wednesday, May 14, 2014. We've been very lucky so far on our trip north. As we've traveled through the Carolinas, we have had nothing but perfect 80 degree days with brisk southerly winds. This would normally mean fast travel up the waterway, but we have also been lucky in that the tides have been helpful almost every day. We have never seen it like this day after day. Below is a picture of the Naval Shipyard as we left Norfolk. We counted 27 ships being worked on as we passed. Posted by Bob and Jane.

Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Today the mast came down at Hop-O-Nose Marina on the Hudson, south of Albany. It last went up here Sept 2008. Lots of dirt in the mast holder on the deck and extra cleaning of previously unreachable spots. But we digress,. The current in Delaware Bay is very strong. Even though the bay is quite large, there is a tremendous current and you need to time the tide to go. We had to leave our anchorage at 5am to catch it just right. And the regular sites. Happy hour included game playing...

Tuesday, March 11, 2014. All Play and No Work. But sometimes we do work. Here, Jane is shopping for vegetables. Of course now she has to figure out how to get them back into the dinghy. When cruising in the Bahamas, your dinghy is your car. It seems the parking spot Jane got is on the lower level Loading the groceries at low tide, is a little different here than at home. Watch your step! In George Town, on Volleyball Beach, it is always play time. A tame stingray (without a stinger), feels kind of squidgy.

Wednesday, April 30, 2014. After waiting out weather at the Ocean Reef Resort in Grand Bahama, we finally got the weather window needed to head back to the USA. Sunday, February 16, 2014. Tranquility to Festival to Resort. Tranquility @ White Point. After leaving the hectic pace over Super Bowl weekend at Black Point, we headed towards Farmer's Cay for the Festival on the next weekend. Everyone else had the same idea, so we made several stops over the very short distance to snorkel, hunt lobster, beach walking and bird watching. This way everyone was ahead of us by a day or two so we had lots of peace and quiet. Festival @ Farmer's Cay. Resort Living @ Sandals.
