Doug and Charisse (and Benjamin). May 9, 2013. If you are at a loss for fun date ideas, add this one to the list: sportsplex. We went to one in east Durham and had more fun than I thought we would. So either I had low expectations, or Doug makes anything fun, or it's nice to have some alone time. Or all three. My form is horrible. And my hands are still bruised! I barely made the cut ;). Doug and Charisse (and Benjamin). Jan 27, 2015. Today was simply beautiful. Part of the reason it was so great was that Ben and I didn't have the car so there was no easy way to get out of the house. Most of the time I feel rushed. Like we have too much going on. So today we just chilled at home; a much needed staycation. Ben started off the day by making cakes with blankets and airplane wings in bowls. We cackled together as we ate it like monsters. That inspired us to make real cake! There you have it.

Drain me so completely. Compete for my husband's time. Close off some friendships and open up others. Mean managing incredible pressures from all sides. Make me decide which important things are more important. Blur some lines and sharpen others. Make me look young and naive to others. I couldn't possibly have known. But I do know.

Doug and Charisse (and Benjamin). Mar 15, 2013. Not your mother's cooking - literally! Happy pi day 1. Called me telling me to make a pie. I suggested buying one instead. Well, because I'm frugal and I've never celebrated pi day before I decided not to buy a pie. Then I remembered I had an extra pie crust in my fridge and decided to make one anyway. And I made a pizza pie. BONUS! I'm not buying a nice camera any time soon so you'll have to suffer with my less-than-adequate photos. I used Cooks recipe.

Doug and Charisse (and Benjamin). Dec 13, 2012. We bought a TV. 47 in Vizio razor, smart TV. It's pretty slick. The first thing we watched on it was The Dark Knight Rises. We celebrated "opening night" with our neighbors, the Ozzies, and homemade Italian food: pizza, pasta and sauce, salad, Dr. Pepper (Dr. Pepper is Italian, right? Though I can't claim it's homemade).
