The life of a 23 year old with autoimmune arthritis. My new ‘normal’. June 19, 2014 14 Comments. I have recently been told that RA is most likely not the correct diagnosis for me. I still want to support RA awareness week and the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). For now I will refer to my condition as RA or autoimmune arthritis…. Okay, maybe that’s a rose-tinted view, I was never a morning person, but I certainly physically felt good even if I was a grump. At On She Goes.

I made it very clear to the receptionist if I was requesting an appointment that I would not see him. The problem with rheumatic conditions is that there can be a lot of overlap of symptoms between conditions and you can have more than one! As Dr R said at my last appointment, diagnosing you is difficult, because you fit every criteria for everything! But you know what?

May 11, 2015. Could I have undiagnosed Fibromyalgia? Part of AS is being tired and joint pain called Enthesis, I know both of these very well. It wasn’t until very recently that I thought “Maybe I have yet ANOTHER Auto-immune disease? 8221; See, they tend to travel in pairs or large groups in some peoples’ cases…. I know there’s no “test” for Fibro but I’m heading to my Rheumy next week and I am definitely going to ask him about it. Posted in Ankylosing Spondylitis. And…it’s almost December!

April 13, 2015. Grrrr……Iritis……my old “friend”. I’ve had Iritis on and off since November 2009, after my daughter was born. I usually am given Pred Forte steroid drops but this time she prescribed Durezol drops instead. We will see how that goes, checkup appt is the 22nd. Guess Who’s Selling Rodan and Fields Skincare Products? Let’s talk about Poshmark and Totspot…. And…it’s almost December! 3 Months to Disney World! On Cimzia is the new Biologic for…. He did the pressure point test and recommended I begin on Cymbalta to see if it helps. I felt like I couldn’t drive I was SO shaky when I first started the 60mg dose. March 16, 2015. Almost 10 weeks in on Cimzia and it’s working pretty good but I had a nasty flare Mon-Friday last week due to stress at work. I was passed up for a well-deserved (if I say so myself…) promotion and the drama/BS that came with it caused my immune system to freak out! This entry was posted in Uncategorized.
