I’m not sure whether to be more upset with the people who felt their dog could swim as far as they could paddle, or the insensitive folks at the camp next to the yellow lighthouse on Old Forge Pond who were more concerned that I was on their dock than for the safety of a dog at risk. Every day the tour boat goes by and tells me (and everyone on board) that “this is a clean body of water”. Well, on my side of Old Forge Pond, it’s a scummy body of water😦. Earlier I complained about the scummy water this year largely because of the maintenance headache it’s causing with my boat. But take a look at this floating patch of weeds over 6 feet long and a couple feet wide. I’ve seen these floating around the pond and the channel connecting it to First Lake.
