On the Road to Residency: One Week Until Match Day!!!!

http://ontheroadtoresidency.blogspot.com/2011/03/one-week-until-match-day.html

On the Road to Residency. March 11, 2011. One Week Until Match Day! As we do more and more planning for our picnic day I am actually thinking almost as much about everyone who is going to be with us celebrating and enjoying the day as I am about that slim, subtle little letter than holds in one little sentence the next three years of our life. On MATCH DAY, I will post about the result. Until then, this will be my last blog about our road to residency. So, I have some last thoughts:. As Match Day comes c...

On the Road to Residency. February 7, 2011. Last Stop- Denver, CO. Brad rushed off (thanks to the helping hand, or should I say car, of Adel! So here we have it Denver, late in the game, facing the buzzer, and we pull you back in! Denver itself we quite like. We honeymooned in Vail and Denver and had a fantastic time. They laughed at his jokes and he returned the favor. This major concern laid to rest, I think Denver would be a place we would enjoy and like to call home. Denver is going high. Because of ...

On the Road to Residency. November 29, 2010. Interview #2 at Vanderbilt in Nashville! Interview Numero Dos- -Nashivlle,TN. I greatly underestimated the persuasive power of southern charm. After years in Los Angeles and a few weeks in Seattle I was not prepared for the manners of Nashville folks. Oh the manners! I would not have guessed it but it turns out I love being addressed as ma'am. Pre-Interview Interview- -The Happy Hour. From the hotel, we crossed the street to get to the restaurant. Here we ...

Snapshots of Our Life: March 2012 & Andrew's Birthday

http://kalivasfam.blogspot.com/2012/05/march-2012-andrews-birthday.html

Saturday, May 26, 2012. March 2012 and Andrew's Birthday. I'm still trying to catch this blog up from March and April. and now we're into May. Ahy! I am really slackin' on this these days. And I know you're all just sitting on the edge of your seats anxiously waiting, right? Getting ready to leave the hospital - all dressed and ready to go with her apple juice. Just doing the last pulse check. My boy was tuckered out when we picked him up from my moms on the way home. He gets majorly spoiled when he ...

Monday, January 31, 2011. Our Western Shindig - Emma and Drew's 2nd birthday party. This weekend was busy, to say the least. But fun. We had Em and Drew's 2nd birthday party, and the days leading up to it, I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off getting everything ready and organized. Anything to make this thing go off without a hitch, and give my munchkins the best birthday party ever! Here are just a few pictures before the party started. (Before all of the craziness! I got this gigant...

Thursday, September 29, 2011. I had a birthday this week. and for the first time in my life it really was just no different from any other day. I guess that's a sign of getting old? I actually forgot it was my birthday a few times throughout the day and had to be reminded. (also possibly a sign of age.) My dad at one point asked me if we had plans that night and I looked at him like he was crazy; It's a Tuesday night? Happy Birthday to me! That was an incredible birthday present! Me and my Boy. Emma is d...

Snapshots of Our Life: May 2011

http://kalivasfam.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 30, 2011. I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day Weekend! I love extended weekends. We had Amy, Andrews sister here for the weekend. She wasn't really feeling well, so she stayed home and laid low for most of the time, but the kids were able to spend some time with their Aunt Amy so that's good. Saturday we went to a BBQ/get together with friends. I did not take one picture that day, so thanks Tracy for sending these to me! But, they had to move away. They were just here for the weekend.

Saturday, May 26, 2012. The Graham's visit: Adults Outnumbered! Our cousins came to visit for a weekend at the end of March/beginning of April (I think that's when it was. this is what happens when I get so behind on this blog.). It's actually Andrew's cousin Travis, his lovely wife Jodi and their kids - Logan, Harper and Ainslee (or Angi-lee as Emma likes to call her.). A line of approximately 200 people waiting to get in! What's so special about this place? Watching cartoons in the morning. Yes, ap...

Sunday, January 29, 2012. January: Bike Rides and Sleigh Rides. I'm still here. Even though I've been on a hiatus from my blog lately. The last few weeks have been even more busy than usual. I feel like that's always how my blog entries start. "I've been busy," but it is true. Our big news. is that we now have two THREE year olds! I can't believe it! Family dinner date night. my favorite! The kids are really into getting sprite if we go out to dinner, in 'big kid cups', or 'Brite' as they call it. They u...

Wednesday, June 29, 2011. 30 Years and counting. The Guests of Honor Celebrating 30 Years! They also have the best group of friends, which is really what made the party so much fun, and turn out as well as it did. 65279;We drank and laughed, visited and made fun of old pictures. I made a big picture board with pictures of them ranging from the 70's through today.) So there were definitely a few that stirred up some interesting conversations and funny memories. Snapshots of Our Life: October 2011

http://kalivasfam.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 30, 2011. We carved the kids pumpkins tonight. I think holidays are so much more fun when you have little kids around. Especially Halloween. This is a really fun age also, because they are really starting to understand the concept of things - and it's especially hilarious (and SO cute) to listen to them explain it to one another. See what I mean about the scribbles - it would not have been the easiest to have to follow for carving.). And Drumroll. our finished product! Actually, I think h...

Monday, July 25, 2011. Like the moon in a bag'. How was everyone's weekend? Too fast. They pretty much tend to always do that on me. Even when I take a Friday or a Monday off. Still flies right by me. In that first pic. of her on the left Drew was splish splashin' her. I love the dramatic face. Emma and Drew loungin' around on Saturday morning:. Spending some time with Will. I thought this picture was cute - - Emma just floating around, hanging out with all her guys. We have Andrews parents in town this ...

On the Road to Ruins | Where Middle Age Meets the Bronze Age

On the Road to Ruins. Where Middle Age Meets the Bronze Age. I have wanted to go to Greece since I was 20. It’s taken me a while to get there. Originally, I planned to stay four weeks, but it seemed impossible to see and do everything there was to see and do. So my plans stretched to six weeks. But as I pored over maps, I couldn’t help but notice that Istanbul was so. Thank you all for coming along! Until the next trip, which, frankly, can’t be soon enough. May 31, 2015. So now begins the tossing out&#46...
