This would do the same as the foreach. Command and will search the passwd file for a users listed in a file /tmp/myuserlist. NB: The is a basic I/O command pipe. This uses output from the previous command as input to the next. Eg find /dns/master -name *.zone xargs grep www.somename.com. grep CNAME.

The command takes each argument in the brackets in turn and replace the in the commands defined at the variable $var. Foreach fred (usr tmp). This will list the contents of /usr and /tmp. This is useful in itself but get better if you call a command with ` `. NB: ` is on the same key as the character on the keyboard. Foreach myuser (`cat /tmp/myuserlist`).
