Oops...Wrong Cookie: The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg by Rodman Philbrick
http://oopswrongcookie.blogspot.com/2009/09/mostly-true-adventures-of-homer-p-figg.html
Where several Texas librarians write about books and stuff. Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg by Rodman Philbrick. I actually found this book rather refreshing. Philbrick somehow manages to keep this a humorous and light-hearted story (air balloons! The language must also be mentioned, because it really is what makes this story stand above others. One of my favorite chapters was when Homer was entrusted to poor, naïve, foolish Mr. Willow:. Book Source: Library Copy.

The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg.

Where several Texas librarians write about books and stuff. Friday, August 31, 2012. The Book of Blood and Shadow by Robin Wasserman. This book bills itself as a Da Vinci Code for Teens. I can't remember (and am too lazy to check) whether this is the official publisher tagline or whether I read that on a blog somewhere. The verdict: oh boy, is it ever. Enter secret societies from stage left and you've got the set up pretty much figured out. I liked how the author made several people equally shady so ...

Where several Texas librarians write about books and stuff. Monday, January 28, 2013. Patti and Joanna Discuss the Youth Media Awards 2013. Welcome to our 2013 ALA YMA Annual Chat! If you are not entirely familiar with the YMAs, you’ll probably find this conversation odd at best. Patti and I were watching a live webcast of the awards which were held in Seattle at 8 am PST. That was 10 and 11 am for us. As usual, there were Yays! Which apparently only the committee has copies. Here’s to next year! LOVED W...
