The F-Files

Thursday, June 18, 2015. Hawaii Trip, Day 5: ER Revisited, and the beach. Instead of heading to church like we planned, we went to find an ER. We ended up going back to Waihiawa. I wasn't feeling well that way, and I could pop my leg laceration like a zit, which wasn't a good sign. My leg was also tight and very painful. Seeing this first thing was the morning's highlight. The tail feathers stood 6' high! A random shot of the cliffs behind the condo. Look how happy I am to be at the ER! I read a book and...

The F-Files: March 2013

Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Getting out gets us sick. Boy a nap sounds good right now. Ruby in the Rough. Monday, March 18, 2013. Music to my ears. Guess who's reading fluently? Really, take a guess. Shown here with green eggs and ham and pancakes. It is like music to my ears. Just last night she was reading aloud to her brother and sister, without help. (And it weren't no Dick and Jane book, either! I'm so happy I could cry or shout for joy! Ruby in the Rough. Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Present: Mira (4&...

The F-Files: Our Hawaiian Vacation, First Night/ Day 1: Waikiki, Swap Meet, and Laie

http://www.operationcartwheel.blogspot.com/2015/06/our-hawaiian-vacation-first-nightday-1.html

Sunday, June 7, 2015. Our Hawaiian Vacation, First Night/ Day 1: Waikiki, Swap Meet, and Laie. We flew in to Honolulu the evening of April 21st. Because we had planned on using the more tentative (but free) military flights, we hadn't arranged either a rental car or a hotel for this night, so those things had to be put in order first thing. I find these artificial bays interesting. Balcony/porch) and a fabulous bathroom. We dumped our luggage and headed out to dinner. He drove, which means I really didn'...

Saturday, April 13, 2013. Honor Bound, and How I Apply That to My Own Foreign Adventures. I have a confession: I'm a tiny bit obsessed with the whole Amanda Knox thing. The case just sticks in my head. I'm sorry if my conviction of their innocence bothers you. This website. While graphic, is extremely enlightening.). Okay, so I'm not obsessed enough to actually purchase either her or Sollecito's book, but I did just borrow his book from the library and I have hers on hold. I also read. My three weeks the...

The F-Files: Day 3: The injury . .Viewer Discretion is Advised

http://www.operationcartwheel.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-injury-timeline-viewer-discretion.html

Thursday, June 11, 2015. Day 3: The injury . .Viewer Discretion is Advised. I was excited for this day. Snorkeling in the morning, Pearl Harbor in the afternoon (although we were feeling more like swimming all day). I was excited to finally be in the water (Looking back, I kick myself for waiting until Day 3). Our snorkeling guide was Erik, our cabana landlord/family of a friend. Or was it just a warning that something was going to happen? Message me and I'll tell you where to look.]. I remember the soun...

Bob & Valerie: April 2013

http://bobandvalerie.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 20, 2013. The Phantom of the Opera Medley. It was an amazing feeling, once I reached the end of the song, to know that I had accomplished something truly great. Hearing the clapping, whistling, and one person yelling "Encore! From the back of the room, really made my day. :) I even had several people ask for a copy of my arrangement. According to my piano teacher, I was the star of the show! Which is so surreal to me. Subscribe to: Posts ( Atom ). The Phantom of the Opera Medley.

Bob & Valerie: Harry Potter - Honeydukes

http://bobandvalerie.blogspot.com/2015/08/harry-potter-honeydukes.html

Sunday, August 16, 2015. Harry Potter - Honeydukes. Honeydukes. I loved everything about our Harry Potter party, but this is really what the kids were excited about. The goods. Once again my Cricut was what made most of this possible. We made Pretzel Wands, which were pretzel rods covered in melted chocolate and sprinkled with gold sprinkles. We also had Jumping Snakes which were just some fun colored gummy worms. Drooble's Best Blowing Gum were simply gumballs and Exploding Bon Bons were Ferrero Rocher.

http://bobandvalerie.blogspot.com/2015/08/what-started-it-all.html

Friday, August 14, 2015. What Started It All. Well, it is sad to say.but I really wasn't a fan of Harry Potter at all. Well, during spring break back in March, we didn't really have any plans so Parker convinced me that we should have a Harry Potter movie marathon. (He was determined to get me to watch the movies and "like" them.). Only we used dowel rods instead of chopsticks). The first wand I made. Parker's favorite wand that he made. The group of wands I made. The group of wands Parker made.

http://bobandvalerie.blogspot.com/2015/08/harry-potter-decorations-part-2.html

Saturday, August 15, 2015. Harry Potter - The Decorations (Part 2). I knew when I started planning Parker's Harry Potter party that if we were going to do it at all, it had to be done right! We displayed some of the wands we made. A leftover treasure chest and coins from a pirate party easily become a Gringotts display with galleons, sickles, and knuts. This toy cubby became the perfect place to store the wands and scarves to be given out during the party. Parker had a cute Webkinz owl that became part o...

Castle Guide

Welcome to CastleGuide.com. The word castle is derived from the latin word castrum. Which was used by the ancient Romans to indicate buildings or plots of land designated for military use. Later, castle became the common term applied to any fortified residence. When most Westerners hear the word castle, they usually envision a medieval stone castle. However, castles come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, styles, and building materials. Fortified residential structures in Russia called kremlin.
