http://misskatsmom.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Miss Kat's Deaf journey. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Ugh, maybe I'm giving up. We went and visited Miss Kat's school today. I wanted to observe her speech therapy, and see if it has improved since we have written better goals, and the SLP has spoken with our private therapist.NOPE! I have put her in contact with what I consider the PREMIER aural rehab specialist in the area, I have given her appropriate goals, I have even pointed her towards great materials, WHY IS SHE STILL DOING VISUAL PHONICS? To have a ...

Miss Kat's Deaf journey: December 2008
http://misskatsmom.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Miss Kat's Deaf journey. Monday, December 22, 2008. Are you kidding me? Today was Miss Kat's one month follow up MAPing. We had to drive 2 hours in a crazy blizzard to get to the audiologist. We really didn't want to drive that far in the snow, but we knew that if we cancelled we wouldn't get a new appointment until the new year, so we borrowed a truck with 4 wheel drive, bundled up and headed out! So, next was the booth test. This is the first test since Miss Kat was activated. We turned off her...He co...

Miss Kat's Deaf journey: September 2008
http://misskatsmom.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Miss Kat's Deaf journey. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Today we took the pre. Surgery "class" with Miss Kat. They forgot to get her an interpreter, so I had to sign everything, but other than that it went very well. They took her through the entire surgery step by step. They started in the waiting room and showed exactly what she can expect. They even let Miss Kat dress up in gloves and a mask and put an IV in her bunny! She was incredibly excited to find out that she can take her paci. When she wakes up.

Miss Kat's Deaf journey. Monday, May 4, 2015. And now we have the IEP. Miss Kat will be attending her neighborhood middle school this fall! She now has a tremendously high number of special education minutes because she has math every day and it is SPED minutes. Miss Kat's Deaf journey: FM Set-up
http://misskatsmom.blogspot.com/2015/03/fm-set-up.html
Miss Kat's Deaf journey. Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Since Miss Kat will be attending a public school in the fall, we had to go in yesterday, to the school district that oversees services for students with special needs, and have her evaluated for an FM. They have to prove that she needs one before they provide it. So, they started with a simple bilateral check of her thresholds. She was at 15-20 db across the board. Very good! On a quasi related note. Miss Kat just received her Roger Pen (for home)!
