Friday, August 31, 2012. ORA-00997 Materailized view on Long columns@Oracle 9i. An interesting requirement came today morning, a Materialized view failing with Long column in the input. The long column had less than 4000 character of data, and front end application expects the resultant output in varchar2 (for the long column) out of the materialized view. At first instance, it felt easy, now lets see what were the challenge andlearning. Long column on Materialized view returns. Here is the test case.
