Easy to Moderate Day Rides All within 15km of town centre . East Gippsland Rail Trail. Total distance about 30 to 32 kilometres includes only 4 kilometres of dirt along Reeves Road. Allow 2 to 3 hours. There is usually a lot of bird life on this ride. Turn off the link trail at the sign to Buchan/ This is the Orbost Buchan Rd. At 235 kilometres you will return to the loop intersection with Bete Belong Rd. Turn Left and return to Orbost by the same route. East Gippsland Rail Trail.

Easy to Moderate Day Rides All within 15km of town centre . East Gippsland Rail Trail. Rail Trail Simpson's Creek Loop. Follow the Rail Trail up the Newmerella cutting and continue riding towards Nowa Nowa. You will pass a number of road crossings and about 13 Kilometres from Orbost on the right hand side of the trail you will find a table and seat and information board which is a great place for a quick drink. Most of the rides will be on roads that have very little traffic or on forest trails that have almost no traffic. This can lead to complacency especially on downhill sections. Easy to Moderate Day Rides All within 15km of town centre . East Gippsland Rail Trail. This is a particularly good ride of about 40 Kilometres which includes a gradual climb of 400 metres over the first 17 kilometres. The start of the rides follows along the sealed Bonang Rd for about 5 kilometres until you reach the Orbost tip. The old Bonang Highway starts immediately past the tip and follows the tip fence for 100 metres. East Gippsland Rail Trail.
