Sunday, April 26th. Race Rocks continues to be a hotbed for pinniped sightings as we saw Elephant seals, harbour seals and both Califiornia and Steller sea lions. The Pacific Explorer left the dock on schedule this calm Easter Sunday afternoon, and the decision was made by Captain Brad to head North East towards San Juan Island. Tuesday, August 26. Superpod right off the waterfront! That was the news as we arrived on scene at Constance Bank. Friday, May 29th. Today Captain John and Naturalist Jenna headed out with a boat full of brave passengers. We journeyed out in some choppy seas to just past Albert Head where we found T40 a large male transient killer whale (the mammal eating variety). Saturday, February 11, 2012. Christmas in Charleston 2011. Cannon Beach and Ecola State Park. On New Years day David and I were lucky enough to have a rain free day and I decided to show him the beauty that is the oregon coast. We headed out to Cannon Beach to walk along the beach to see Haystack rock and check out the many galleries of local artisans that dot the downtown area. Oregon Zoo Lights 2011. Monday, August 12, 2013. Sadly, I did not pursue my marine biology dreams. This was mostly due to the "Jaws" movies. After watching those I decided that working with sharks was not in my future and figured at some point when studying I would have to do that, so I decided to follow other career avenues. Sunday, February 2, 2014. Well the Super Bowl has concluded and the Seattle Seahawks have won their first championship in franchise history. The Seahawks scored 36 unanswered points before the Broncos scored a touchdown and two point conversion late in the third quarter and then soared to a 43-8 victory. Congratulations Seattle you deserve this win. The Seahawks outplayed the Broncos from the start and never let up! Congratulations to the former Ducks who won today; Max Unger and Walter Thurmond III.
