http://orchidaday.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Orchid a Week by Dan. Every Week A New Orchid Culture, Habitat, and Other Fun Facts! Tuesday, February 1, 2011. I'm not really a big fan of Phals, but these lueddemanniana are pretty radical. They are native to the Philippines. Where they grow epiphytically in the canopy's. This can be a problem though, since a plant, when flowering will devote most of its energy to the flower and not to the growth. So these lil plant buddies with remain adorble and little until removed. Like most phals, lueddemanniana i...

Orchid a Week by Dan. Every Week A New Orchid Culture, Habitat, and Other Fun Facts! Monday, February 7, 2011. The pendant spikes can hang as low as 18" with 6-10 flowers per spike. To me the flowers look like a dragons head as it is about to take a big bite out of something. Gongora are in the tribe Maxillarieae. And the subtribe Stanhopeinae. Which just so happens to be the same subtribe as Stanhopea, and it just so happens that it attracts the same euglossine bee. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Orchid a Week by Dan. Every Week A New Orchid Culture, Habitat, and Other Fun Facts! Wednesday, February 9, 2011. I have been having a real hard time deciding which orchids to blog about, you'd think it would be real easy, but it isn't somehow. So for today I just picked from my top ten favorite. Evidently these orchids are very ea...

Adirondack Flower Farm: Soap Studio

http://adirondackflowerfarm.blogspot.com/p/soap-studio.html

A hobby that has gotten way out of control! In the winter time when flower sales are way down I use the down time to create handmade soap and many more bath and body products. A few of the products featuring Lavender, Maple and beeswax have made it to our farmers market tables and many more products are scheduled to appear on the tables this summer, so be on the lookout! Adirondack Flower Farm: Weddings & Events

http://adirondackflowerfarm.blogspot.com/p/weddings-events.html

A good portion of the cut flowers I grow are for my event work. Last season I did more than 40 weddings and events. Eco-minded brides love my flowers because they smell like real flowers, they are not grown with synthetic fertilizers or harsh chemicals and they are local. I have designed for very large weddings or intimate gatherings. My mason jar flower designs are very affordable and are great for all occasions not only weddings but for graduation parties, retirement dinners and so much more.
