A large triple-trunked tree (the trunks being named Faith, Hope, and Love) is reputed to be a place for new mothers to bury the placenta of the babe. Monday, March 9, 2015. Alta, Norway to North Cape. Had an interesting lunch conversation with a couple British women who had spent night at the Ice Hotel, sleeping in cocoon-like sleeping bags in igloos, with toilet facilities outside in another building. The woman describing the experience said she went prepared with incontinence undies! A couple mulled wines in late afternoon sure hit the spot while a few of us attempted the afternoon trivia game. So I shall keep a sharp eye on our crew.
