Saturday, January 24, 2015. First 2015 Entry on the Books! The first entry for this year's race came in this week. It's from none other than CYC. S Wy'East, skippered by Frank Colistro of Portland, OR. This boat's a Cascade 36 with a PHRF rating of 153. Wy'East holds the record for the most years completing the Oregon Offshore, 20 years so far! We're told there are at least a couple other entries in the mail, so check back soon for updates. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Mea Culpa, Velocity! Velocity had completed the shortened course and reported a time to the race committee, but her reported time did not make it to the scorer's table. The CYC Race Committee regrets this error, and would like to recognize the crew of Velocity for their determination in finishing the shortened course. Sunday, March 8, 2015. After a painful and somewhat tragic absence last year, Rage has entered the race again. Her skipper is Steve Rander, of Portland, OR, and owner of one of the race's best sponsors, Schooner Creek Boat Works. Together, Steve and Rage held the record for Fastest to Finish until last year. The insurance company is giving us the full agreed upon amount though. And, I have purchased the salvage title and will be moving aboard L'Orca this September and the work to rebuild her starts now!
