About me and this blog. On my Organic Allotment. Getting dirty hands while growing food the natural way. Laquo; Free-barb – the sequel. Insert CORNy title here. April 20, 2011 by William. Another terrible pun title today. I feel like I should apologise for it but I find puns mildly amusing in an “oh now. Bad” way, so I won’t. Anyway – the corn I planted seems to be doing well so far… not that there’s much to see. I think I’m going to need a bigger house. On May 21, 2011 at 3:57 pm. Half of my bedroom has...

April 19, 2011 by William. The pun that wouldn’t die. I decided that last year’s free rhubarb really wasn’t best placed and so this week I’ve been moving it. Some has stayed on the original plot, the rest is moving home to the new plot. The rhubarb looks quite sorry for itself in the photo as it was dug out yesterday and h...

About me and this blog. On my Organic Allotment. Getting dirty hands while growing food the natural way. Laquo; Now you don’t. Free-barb – the sequel. Your attention, please! April 11, 2011 by William. I have an announcement to make. It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve decided it’s about time I got on with writing about things and finally come clean with the “big announcement” I promised… last year. It appears that Sam and I have taken on a second allotment. 8220;How many tons* do you want? I think th...

A Cook and her Windowsill. Tales of windowsill vegetable gardening and a tasty meal or two. Monday, 11 March 2013. We did get aubergines. Hmm it appears again that, as in 2011, I managed to start the year with the greatest of intentions in 2012, blogging a few times and then life got in the way and I didn't manage to keep it up. We didn't give up on the windowsill though and did indeed get aubergines! Plants go out onto the windowsill. Some windmills add colour. Yellow tomatoes in the rain. Alive and Kic...

http://acookandherwindowsill.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
A Cook and her Windowsill. Tales of windowsill vegetable gardening and a tasty meal or two. Tuesday, 27 July 2010. The poor little tomato plant that took such a battering in the wind. When I first put it outside a few weeks ago seems to be recovering well. It's got loads of new shoots on it now that are doubling in size every day at the minute so it seems to be fighting back. I'm really hoping that it's going to come back from the brink and actually produce some flowers and fruits! Monday, 26 July 2010.

A Cook and her Windowsill. Tales of windowsill vegetable gardening and a tasty meal or two. Monday, 19 March 2012. All our seedlings have germinated! First the sunflowers popped their heads up, then came the red and yellow tomatoes (the yellow tomatoes seem to have done considerably better than the red ones with all of the yellow tomatoes germinating but only six of the ten red tomato seeds that I planted have germinated), a week or so later the aubergines appeared (very exciting! I decided to use up the last of the red tomatoes yesterday in a Jamie Oliver sausage and tomato bake. Thursday, 21 October 2010. Home Grown, Handmade, Simple Living. May 23, 2014. This is the time of year when the allotment and garden really start to come to life. Helped along by a little warmth and wetness seedlings are popping up all over the place. And perennial plants and shrubs that have been quiet over the winter months are coming back into their own.
