                                        This page shows a selection of works taken from Gyrths sketchbooks - Over 2000 sketches , drawings and sepias have been donated by the Gyrth Russell estate to the Canadian Archives museum where they will all eventually be available upon request to view. This is just a small selection but shows gyrths artistic workings from pencil sketches , line washes , sepias and how many were `gridded` to take onto larger finished paintings.                                         A brief Biography of Gyrth Russell RI - ROI -RSMA. Gyrth Russell was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in April 1892, the last of eight children. His Father, a canadian M.P., was also Supreme High Court Judge for Nova Scotia. Returning to her Halifax Station, her decks piled high with coffins containing bodies found after the Titanic Disaster.
