December 10, 2009. Out of the mouths of 4th graders. Recently, Michael gave his kids an assignment. They calculated what they were spending on their daily milk carton for lunch, and compared it to what the average gallon of milk costs from the store. They then wrote letters to the principal expressing their concern over this price inflation. It's a compelling argument:. I've left some spelling/grammar intact, but corrected some for the sake of readability). Dear Mr. V ,. We wold like to get milk back....

August 24, 2009. At a family gathering last spring, we were in my aunt's living room chatting while kids ran all over the house playing. At one point, Rebekah ran through with some toy (maybe Thing 1? And my cousin laughingly made the comment that she is definitely Mikey's kid, because she can often be found with the oddest things. A few months later, again at my aunt's house, this time during a white elephant gift exchange, someone gave Beck a present to open, and another attachment was formed:. Whoa, e...

December 16, 2008. Last week we went to Thanksgiving Point to see the lights. We went with a group from the ward, and took a hayride. Rebekah was much more interested in the horses pulling us than the lights themselves, but we were impressed that she was in such a good mood regardless, considering how cold it was. They even had reindeer! Beck loved them as well, though we were nervous she was going to get speared there for a minute. December 1, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Our little big kid. Oh dea...

April 21, 2010. Meet Tiana and Belle. Exchange students visiting us from a certain 4th grade classroom down the road, to help Beck with a recent bug phobia. We've read the Very Hungry Caterpillar, and are eagerly awaiting the chrysalis phase. They started out as tiny little black things, maybe a centimeter long, and have gotten fat and sassy on the thistle plant we dug up (not ice cream and salami), so Michael thinks it'll be any day now. Butterfly in the sky, i can fly twice as high! Our little big kid.
